Always amazing food and amazing people, ive been eating here for 10 years! Google time said they were open till 7, but when I got there, they were closed. The man inside still unlocked the door for me and got me some salsa, as thats all I wanted. Its the little things and familia run restaurants that really matter 🙏 grateful for wondeful people and restaurant 😎💯

The gentleman happily greets you and kindly takes your order. He patiently and clearly answers any questions.

The tasty chips and salsa come to your table immediately followed by your drinks. No sooner are you done with your chips when your heaping made-to-order food arrives.

My wife and I each had a burger and fries.

This has a traditional burger joint feel, complete with friendly, fast service. There are Mexican influences in the burgers we chose, which kicked the food up a notch. They've got a formula that satisfies the hungry tummy & soul, and makes you look forward to your next meal there.

We are visiting from Kansas City and poured over trip Advisor and Yelp and settled on El Jacalito. We were not disappointed. First off, it’s small, but it’s clean, the food is excellent and the staff is friendly. AI told me I must have a green chile cheeseburger while in Las Cruces, and while I scold my grandkids for wanting burgers and grilled cheese at our favorite KC Mexican restaurant, I figured this was an exception. It was delicious! The burger was beefy and delicious. The Hatch chiles were a treat. Chopped and sautéd, like a crown on my burger. Yum! My husband had the beef and potato burrito. And he couldn’t stop raving about it. Usually at home, we top our burritos with red sauce. He poured the green salsa on it that they had served us with our chips. He was one happy camper. We probably won’t be back this way soon, but we will definitely recommend you to our friends who own the house where we are staying. Thanks so much.

Please don’t judge from the outside. Awesome red chile sauce. The green chile is amazing as well, just prepare for the crescendo of heat.

Quaint spot, great service 👌! Chile relleno and queso fundido burgers are a must. Tried the gorditas plate, n they didn't disappoint. Im usually not a fan of New Mexican, Mexican restaurants. But this place is delicious 😋

2 of us dropped in first time earlier this week after seeing reviews online. Back today to share DELICIOUS green chile cheeseburgers with someone else. 3 Big burgers, FRESH roasted green chile, fresh veggies and fries. I don't usually like natural cut fries but these fries are Yum and the seasoning rocks.
Also got the 3 asada taco plate as a side 😀. Again, DELICIOUS, tender beef, cilantro , onion, salsa with rice and beans. Everything was GREAT.
The horchata is above average too, rich vanilla cinnamon flavor, not too sweet and no rice grit.
Stop at Jacalitos. Do it. Get the green chile cheeseburger and a horchata.
