I decided to try the carne asada burrito and the birria tacos, and the price was fair. The asada had a nice charred flavor that added depth, but sadly, it was the only distinguishing taste; otherwise, the burrito filling was nothing special. The other ingredients provided some textural contrast, but the burrito lacked vibrancy overall.Moving on to the birria tacos, they were decent, but the meat was bland. I then dipped it in the consomé broth. Some restaurants leave the birria with little flavor because they let their consomé enrich the beef. However, this restaurant's consomé was flavorless. While the carne asada showed some promise with its char, if I returned, I might be tempted to try their steak tacos, but I would not go out of my way to revisit the rest of their menu offerings.

My fiance had been wanting to check out this location for some time, and we went on a whim for lunch. When we entered, it is a very small location, with plastic chairs and cheap tabletops, that kind of looks like a cafe without all the fancy stuff. We sat down at a table, and noticed that it was pretty dirty, and after a few minutes the waitress arrived and asked us if we would like to have it cleaned. (Of course we would like it cleaned, and not have to brush the chips off from the previous table) The girl never showed up, we saw her bustling around back there, but in the entire restaurant there were only three sets of people, and none of them got service while we were there. After about 15 minutes or so staring at the menu, (again just three sets of people) My fiance and I decided to leave. We got up, she saw us, and smiled; not even an apology for not serving us. This was horrible. The vibe was not very good. Music was provided by a $10 stereo from Walmart. It was just not a good vibe at all. There are tons of Mexican restaurants in Las Cruces. If you expect to survive, you have to do way better. There is zero chance I will ever be back.

LOVE this place! Tried several items off the menu & I’ve never been disappointed. Everything has good flavor. Even the salsa is perfection! They’re also consistent which i really appreciate. Not many places have good food every single time we go.

Was gravely disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered the chicken enchilada with green "salsa" (a green chile sauce). The enchilada I received was NOT the best. My enchilada were cold throughout and tasted like it was microwaved. The chicken had a dry crunch that reminded me of precooked chicken that was left on a grill and dried out before being served. The refried beans were lukewarm and the rice had a strange taste. Also had the carne asada tacos with charro beans. The tacos were room temperature, dry and chewy. The beans were lukewarm as well and appeared to have a type of hotdog in it and as if sitting there all day. It felt that the whole service was phone in and it wasn't even busy at the time.

Super tasty place! I've eaten there once and the restaurant was clean and comfortable, though fairly small. The service was quick and the food tasted delicious - their quesadilla de birria's are my favorite, and the flautas are perfect as well! I've had it delivered 3 times now and each time it was just as good as it was in the restaurant. This is a consistently delicious restaurant and definitely a place I will continue to eat at regularly!

Food was excellent, the torta birria is what I ordered and it was delicious. I gave 4 stars for the service because it took a little long, but I understand, no big deal. Bottom line the food was delicious.

Every single thing I've had here is delicious and the portions are massive. it's become our favorite place for dinner, either dining in or carrying out. I cannot recommend Pajar highly enough!
