We had so much fun here! We came here on the 20th and participated in the Drink and Geeks trivia night and had a ball! Everyone was so friendly, and I apologize because I can't remember the gentleman who served us, but upon finding out we were there celebrating our anniversary, made us a very delicious dessert to help us celebrate. (I wish I didn't have to share with my hubby...don't tell my hubby I said that). I loved the atmosphere as well, such a cool little shop. I highly recommend it! And for heaven's sake, can someone please beat the Italian Disco team! :)

There's a lot to say in this review. We went to this cafe because it was one of the few that was still open and ordered a cup of coffee, tea, pizza, and a chicken pesto sandwich. The biggest issue was the price at $52! The chicken pesto sandwich was cold, the tea was not good, and the pizza had no taste. Although the food itself was not the best and the coffee was okay, the pricing felt very random and predatory. All items were priced at random decimal denominations like $6.48 or $9.52, but what was worse is that online, the prices are not the same as in person. Additionally, if you'll see in my picture, there were prices for pizzas written in chalk, and you can clearly see the substantial price increases (I'm assuming fairly recently) from 16.50 to 19.80. Now I will say that the gentleman working with the vest on was very nice, and when I accidentally ordered a Margherita pizza instead of a cheese pizza, this gentleman made our pizzas extremely fast and was very kind. It's also worth noting that this establishment was also a bar and seems to be more active at night. It seems to me that this establishment should either choose to be a bar or choose to be a cafe with prices that reflect that.

This cafe hosts great karaoke (Saturdays) and open mic nights, the cocktails are on point and definitely check out their food specials too (I go for BOGO pizza night)

Cakes Cafe is a gem. The owner was welcoming, the alcoholic coffee was excellent, and the atmosphere had a great laid-back vibe. Highly recommend checking it out.

They have a dedicated vegan menu, which is great. However, the Panini was a very small portion, though was the best of the items we had. The oatmeal was simply unseasoned wet oats with a few pieces of fruit on top, and the French toast was unseasoned, cooked to a crisp, had minimal flavor and included a side of high fructose corn syrup maple syrup. We really wanted to enjoy this place but didn’t find the food very tasty. Updated from previous review on 2025-11-22
