We waited 40 for the table while there is only one table before us. Then we waited another 40 mins for the food. The cheeseburger is burned and bitter. I wouldn’t recommend this place for parties with starving kids.

Extremely disappointing. There are many many excellent restaurants in Santa Fe and we stumbled on to this almost criminally bad establishment. I am baffled that the overall rating is even close to as high as it is. A deeper investigation into the ratings after I left revealed that most of the really poor ratings are recent.... maybe ownership or management changes have happened. I normally don't take the time to write a rating, but, with this place, I feel that it is my duty to fellow travelers.

It took a quarter hour for someone to come over once we sat our party of five. The 'waiter' brought 1 (!) paper little square paper napkin and left. We eventually ordered chips and salsa with guacamole and queso. The menu description makes everything sound great. Beware. When delivered, the flavorless chips were likely straight from a bag with weak 'chili' salsa. Portion was puny. No queso and no guacamole.

We all ordered standard menu items and then waited 55 minutes for our food. My daughter ordered chicken fajitas with flour tortillas and received three small scrawny strips of chicken with undersized cold 'corn' tortillas dripping with oil. Inedible. Another party member received mushroom fajitas where the mushrooms were burnt and hard (how do you do that?). Also inedible. Another daughter received their four tacos on hors d'oeuvre size tortillas.

My hibiscus aqua fresca had a strong saccharine taste.

Eventually the waiter brought exactly 5 half sheets of paper towel for us to clean our mouths and hands, ... which were really needed, since the tiny greasy tortillas couldn't hold any food and left their mark.

I could go on and on about how bad it was, but I gotta go!

Btw, the $190 bill that came included a 20% group tip... and it asked for more tip.

Certainly a diner that was bad enough that we will laugh about for years to come.

I’ll start with the positives…the atmosphere was nice but they were playing odd country music (bad). That is the end of the positives. We were told that they had queso, only to be informed they did not have queso. We also ordered guac which we never received and then were charged for. I ordered the chicken fajitas, which the menu said came with guac, sour cream, and flour tortillas. Instead, I got a very small portion of overcooked chicken, no sour cream, no guac, and very oily corn tortillas. Someone else in our party got the mushroom fajitas, with mushrooms that were so burnt they were literally inedible and rock solid. Service was very slow, and took us about 2hrs to fully eat and pay, most of which was spent sitting and laughing at our predicament.

Tamarindo margarita was decent. Food wasn't bad, but the portions were miserable for such expensive plates, especially if comparing to any New Mexican restaurants in the area, which are pretty generous.

Nice atmosphere and solid tacos, but they're half the size of a regular taco, so $20 for 4 is pretty ridiculous.

Best Mexican restaurant ever, best meal ever! Must stop here if you need a casual spot to go to

They specialize in street tacos. You can find a better taco on Airport Blvd. from any one of the food truck vendors at a fraction of the cost. Had eaten here in the past and it was pretty good. Brought friends from out of town and was embarrassed by the quality of the food and service. Santa Fe is better than this.

They open at 4:30 on the website, but not in reality. No one inside would even acknowledge us waiting outside even though we were noticed.

Don't come early.

From sticky tables, to the inattentive service and literally inedible food, this was the worst restaraunt experience I’ve had since the Bush administration.

Bar was kinda cute tho

The place itself is nice, nicely decorated, and it's inviting, but my first clue to not stop in should have been how empty it was.
The music they were playing was nice, the bar looks stocked, clean and neat. Lots of beautiful art. Maybe that's what this place should focus on, the ambiance and bar, and lose the food service.

We were nicely greeted and told to sit anywhere, there were plenty of open tables. They don't offer paper menus, this place seems to be a relic of 2020 Covid times, completely stuck in time. We asked if they served queso, we were told yes, so we went ahead and ordered queso guacamole and salsa. Out come the chips, surprisingly quickly, but not without a catch.
Surprise, no queso. The chips were sprinkled with paprika, perhaps as a last ditch effort to sway tourists into thinking that this joint has flavor. Overall the chips were thick, not completely cooked through, stale and had a burnt oil flavor.

We ordered flautas, and out came a dish swimming in a mysterious tomato sauce doused in unmelted cheese, sour cream, tomato, pickled onions all slathered up like some sort of porridge. They use dark meat in their flautas, and while that's typically not a bad thing, this dark meat tasted old, I assume because this dish probably doesn't get ordered too frequently. We ordered a Ceasar salad, which we were told they didn't have, and then one arrived at the table. That might have been the best part but not the best ceasar we've had by far, plus the server didn't even know they had the salad on their menu.
This place doesn't take pride, nor care in just about anything, it seems. Overall, it was extremely disappointing, save yourself from a bad experience.

I would have loved to write an actual review, unfortunately despite website saying that they open at 11:30 AM on Thursday they were closed when we went at noon. Would have been nice not to waste our time going to this specific taqueria.
