We had the pleasure to experience the flamenco performance, it’s a must see when in Santa Fe. Book early as the tickets sell out quickly. We shed tears of joy as “las damas tienen duende” The dancers’ evocative movements conveyed a heightened state of emotion, expression and authenticity. Even if geared towards tourists the performance by the National Institute of Flamenco was captivating and riveting, when the dancer was on stage, the whole world disappeared and it was just you, the dancer, the singer and the guitarist. It took your breath away. Clap along, try to match the rhythm and cadence of the other dancers clapping, immerse yourself and become part of the show. You will leave a different person. Thank you El Farol for a wonderful evening. The paellas and cocktails were amazing too. Olé

I've been visiting Santa Fe since the 80s and always saw this place promoted in the hotels we stayed in, but never dined here...until last year, and loved the food, location, history, & atmosphere. In town again today and came in for dinner. Just as good as the last time!! A new favorite in a town I've loved for over 35 years.I hope to come back again soon and catch a flamenco show.Dietary restrictions: Chicken wings are gluten-free and amazing!

Great food, if a little on the pricey side. The atmosphere and music were fantastic.

Sat in the corner by the bathroom, not the best seat. Ambiance is very cute, dark lit and very Santa Fe style. Enjoyed the Salmon cooked light, separated beautiful with light seasoning. The salad overpriced, it's a salad nothing to comment on. The flan, amazing ?, creamy with a caramelized top that blended with the flavors of the flan.

Had a strange experience where the waitress was very hostile towards me when I went to join my husband and one year old for lunch there. She was so rude and hostile we left before ordering. Not sure why she felt she was able to speak to us like that. Prior to that visit I’d been going there for years for my coffee. Never again will I give my money to a place they can’t speak to me respectfully.

Too expensive. Small potions. Well located but not worth the $$$

Review of El FarolThis December, I had a couple days in Santa Fe so I did what any rational visitor from east of the Mississippi should do: spend mornings on huevos rancheros and dedicate the evenings to a tour de tapas. My experience culminated at El Farol. My initial impression was that the tapas menu at La Boca looked more interesting, but my experience at El Farol was unequivocally better. The food at El Farol is vibrant and fresh. The mouth watering chicharrones are a triumph and were a perfect complement to the other lighter dishes we had. The beet salad was perfectly conceived and beautiful to see and eat. The anchovies in the boquerones were delicious and I wish I could have them in my pantry at home. The Brussels and cauliflower dishes are each the best version of their primary ingredient. The atmosphere at El Farol is lively, but we had enough space to get comfortable and to have good conversation. On our next trip to Santa Fe, there is no doubt that we will be returning to El Farol, hopefully on a day warm enough to enjoy what looks to be an expansive outdoor patio. Until then, I’ll be dreaming of tapas and flamenco. ?

Perfect place to end our day. Wish we had been able to sample the dinner menu. We got there while they were serving happy hour menu. But we could not complaint. Everything was great.

Great historic restaurant/bar with a lot of atmosphere. The food was great, but the happy hour drinks were sub-par.

The food at the Christmas Eve Dinner was horrible. Soup served almost cold. Salmon tasted old and smelled. Dessert was good. Will never eat there again.

Christmas Eve dinner- Waited outside on long line for thirty minutes and finally let in past the reservation time.Herded in like cattle, packed in seating, very loud (plus blaring Mariah Carey!) Thought the ambiance would be different given the historic status of this building. We knew the (fixed price) menu would be spare but it was undercooked and cold and overpriced. Food poisoning for Christmas is not fun!
