We started with olives and almonds. I ordered the caesar with prawns because they were out of the mushroom pappardelle. My only complaint is that they used spring mix instead of romaine lettuce. The prawns were tasty but a bit overcooked. Dressing was perfect with the right flavors. My husband had the trout and it was cooked perfectly. It was quite hot upstairs, the candles they use threw off a lot of heat. We right by the windows so we opened them right up. Service was great.
Lovely staff that is excited to share their wine knowledge and food creations. The roast cabbage was sublime.
A great place for any meal. Charming ambiance and friendly staff makes it a enjoyable experience.
We have had a house here for 24 years and now live here full time. We know the restaurant scene. This place is unpretentious with outstanding food and service and will become a favorite! Highly recommend!
Enjoyed a nice meal. Light jazz in background, fresh and tasty salad, chicken was moist and flavorful!
Dining at La Mama reminded me of why I began to love fine dining in the first place. Just like a massage or other self care treat, when done correctly, you walk away on a cloud of complete satisfaction. The food was expertly crafted, and the flavors delightfully combined. The wine recommendation was perfect. The service and atmosphere were so lovely... right down to the mini (real) lanterns. Beautiful. Well done La Mama! The food: exquisite. The service: knowledgeable, kind and assistive. The atmosphere: cozy and sweet. The quality: top-notch.
Delicious food and wine in a casual restaurant with a local vibe. The food quality was excellent. We are vegetarian and tasted almost all the options — we enjoyed every bite. The server helped us pick a wine and it was a good choice.
Small dinner menu- but done with precision. Love the atmosphere and easy to have conversation
We were sat upstairs in what they call the "treehouse"- a beautiful Japandi room among the golden fall trees, and everything was delicious and charming from start to finish- our wine, our appetizers (ooh that focaccia!) our salads and entrees, all perfectly spaced and delicious. We ate pretty much everything on the menu, the chicken and pasta were divine, and the chocolate caramel tart with sea salt sealed the whole experience to be one of the best nights (and birthdays) this year! John and Reuben were fabulous servers :)
Enjoyed dinner mid-week. The food is outstanding. A unique wine selection focused on organic and different varietals than most restaurants. Attentive , friendly service.

The braised chicken was excellent as was the chocolate mousse dessert. Despite being the only guest seated upstairs (I came for an early dinner) my server graciously went up and down the stairs often to make sure I was content and well attended. I sat by the window looking at the beautiful yellowing fall tree. Above par service and food!
The food was relatively good for the price, which was more reasonable than most nice restaurants in Santa Fe. The menu is very limited, which was fine. Our complaint was the wine. The wines by the glass that we tasted were not good-we weren't sure if they were just bad or old. We ordered a bottle that was pretty good, but at $95 not worth it. We will not go back.
We happened upon this restaurant when we were on a quick visit to Santa Fe on a cold, rainy evening. It was super cozy, with good music at a level that wasn't intrusive for conversation. On a Monday evening there was a family or two, couples dressed up for dinner, a birthday party with 7-8 women, and a solo diner. The service was very good. They were instantly able to accommodate a member of our party who has mobility issues. The server took time to make suggestions and bring us samples of a couple of wines. The menu is a little unusual, which we appreciated. We shared a variety of plates and liked everything we tried. The food runner was also very kind and attentive. All in all a good experience that I'm happy to recommend to others.
The staff was super busy and positively amazing. They'd run out of some food and they handled it all with great ease and creativity... and WE HAD THE BEST TIME! They made it work and i had the kefta and chard, almonds and olives... all delicious.
Wonderful experience at La Mama. I brought 5 friends and every one of us loved our dishes and unusual orange wine. Service was fantastic. Highly recommend something very different from most Santa Fe restaurants!
