This place makes it hard to place an order. The phone that is provided to go straight to voicemail. They don’t have an online ordering system get with the times los amigos.

The food was not good at all. We ended up leavjng our food there most of which was not eaten. The place was dirty. It needed vacuuming and a deep cleaning. The bathroom was dirty and the bathroom floor was sticky and looked like it hadn't been washed in years. Several employees were just sitting around talking where they could have been cleaning and earning their wages. We were so disappointed being that we had been there several times before and we enjoyed. I don't know if management changed but I would not recommend this restaurant at all.
Love going there with my church group and we meet there once a month but it took them forever to get our order and then there were issues with a couple of the plates. My chili was supposed to be on the side but it was smothered all over my omelette. There was a misunderstanding about another plate and it took a long time to get the order corrected. I still like the atmosphere there and I still like going there.

On a lunch hunt in Santa Fe, we asked Liza at the Best Western on Cerrillos for a solid local recommendation. Without missing a beat, she pointed us to Los Amigos, noting that their red chile is the only one she loves almost as much as her mother’s. Honestly, that was all we needed to hear.
The moment we walked in, the place had that perfect “busy but not chaotic” energy, and we were seated right away. A friendly young man greeted us with water, chips, and salsa almost instantly. Shortly after, a stunning young woman named Vitiana arrived to take our order—and she quickly became the star of our visit.
I went with the Huevos Rancheros, my wife chose the chicken enchiladas, and both dishes arrived quickly with generous portions. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and flat-out delicious.
But the real standout was Vitiana’s service. She was warm, gracious, genuinely kind, and wonderfully attentive—the kind of server who elevates an already great meal. Every request was met with a smile and effortless efficiency. Simply put: Wow!
We’ll absolutely be back to Los Amigos the next time we’re in Santa Fe—and hopefully that’s sooner rather than later.

Whenever I come here there are about equal numbers of Latinos (especially families) and Anglos which indicates to me a certain balance of both authenticity and broad appeal here in the American Southwest. The food is more TexMex than Northern New Mexican - I find it correspondingly milder and blander, more like a suburban Texan's idea of what Mexican food should taste like rather than the real deal. But that's what a lot of Anglos are looking for, so it makes business sense.
What I like: the green chile stew is very tasty, if overly salty to my taste. The Mexican Platter is what I usually get and is pretty good in spite of it's TexMex leanings. Its combination of chile relleno, pork tamal, ground beef taco, and cheese enchilada suits me well. Their sopapillas are awfully good - but good sopapillas are found almost everywhere in this city.
This is not my go-to Northern New Mexican restaurant (That would be the excellent La Choza) but I do bring out-of-towners here who I know are not adventurous eaters and do not like piquante foods, and they like the food. It also has a distance advantage as I live only minutes away. If you judge restaurants by their parking lots, Los Amigos's is almost full most of the time - it is quite popular.
My order this time was carry-out.

Regularly drive by and thought we'd try dinner. Extensive menu with a focus on northern NM specialty options. Tonight we both enjoyed the Roasted Beef Stuffed Buritto, served with beans, rice and topped with guacamole and sour cream. Red and green chile or both as options. The entrees were very tasty and filling. Service was average, but enough. We'll try it again, especially since breakfast and lunch are also options.
Ordered a roast beef burrito, worst burrito I have ever had, beef was so rubbery wasn’t roast beef at all no taste it was very bland i threw it out disgusting oh and way over priced i spent $17 and it was a take out
