Authentic Cuban Sandwiches Made with Love!
Maggie’s Cocina in El Dorado serves up the most authentic Cuban sandwich I’ve had outside of Havana! The bread is perfectly crisp on the outside, warm and soft inside, filled with tender, juicy pork, ham, cheese, and the perfect tang of pickles and mustard. Third time eating here and each offering has been delicious. Today
I opted for the Short Rib Perogies with Bacon AND Carmelized onion sauce. So good - but if you had to choose only one , I’d go with the carmelized onion.
They’re such nice women who serve great food and I can’t wait for colder weather and their comfort food!

Taste of Maggie's Cocina is a fantastic and amazing hidden gem. The food is incredible, fresh, and delicious with perfectly balanced flavors. Specific meals that are terrific include the green chili chicken pot pie, red chili chicken burrito, Borscht, cubano sandwich, and carne adovada burrito. The beef shank Posole is also incredible, with a rich broth and pleasant texture. The chile provides a little warmth without taking over. The rice and beans are on point.
The ambiance checks all the boxes with a comfortable little outdoor dining space, outdoor speakers, and vibey tunes. The owner is incredibly kind, sweet, and helpful, making visitors feel right at home. There is plenty of parking for RVs and road trippers. This small business is a true hidden gem and absolutely worth the stop, providing a good food buzz and leaving guests satiated and so glad they visited. It is a place many hope to eat at again on a return visit.
