My husband and I discovered this place when found out that pretty much EVERYTHING closes at 8 in Santa Fe (unless you are looking for coffee, and those places close at 5! What is UP with that?). Anyway, clearly this is where all the cool kids hang out! Busy place, but there was plenty of room and fantastic service! Found a parking spot easily. Great diner vibe, and when I tell you the menu was extensive, I am not even joking! I wish I had been hungrier, or I would have tried more. Husband got a Wagyu burger with fries (I snuck more than a few fries… yum!), and I got a side of mashed potatoes (also yum!) and some sliced avocado. But the main event for us was the pie. Holy cow! We had no business finishing our slices… but we (almost) did! If you are hungry, or just want a bite of dessert and coffee late at night, this is the spot!

we loved tune up cafe! It felt like a local spot, Our waitress was so personable and great, and it felt easy to have our 7 mo old baby there. Our waitress knew patrons by name and on ol of the lovely atmosphere, the food was VERY good. We had such a nice evening here! (Back in June! Better late than never).

If you're not eating all your meals in Santa Fe here, you're doing it wrong. The food was so so delicious. These were the best pupusas I've ever had. And the pie. I make good pies. Their pies were the best I've had.

The food is terrible. It all looked and tasted like bad supermarket pre-cooked microwaveable meals. My husband said his tasted like dog food. Can’t even explain how bad everything tasted :(
We also got the wrong order and drinks never came, but can’t blame the waiter who was actually very nice and didn’t charge us for our drinks. He didn’t seem surprised at us barely touching the food.
Also the average person spend is definitely not $10-20 like other reviews suggests. Entrees are already 17-20 on their own?

After a couple of Sunday visits, trying make it a regular routine, the one today was unfortunately very unpleasant. Our neighboring table that was less than one shoulder length apart was served the most horrendous piece of flat iron steak I’d ever spelt. The entire area wreaked of rotten meat, and the poor gentlemen sent back his food after only a couple of bits. After discussing with him as the plate left it was definitely some sort of spoilage.

I have been going to Tune-Up for many years. Over the past few years, consistency has been mixed. My kids (and me) love the burgers. And breakfast is generally a safe bet. That said, I've had several meals that were on the edge of nauseating, including the bison burger.
My experience today was different than other trips. As a convenient neighborhood restaurant, I rode my bike to pickup some burgers. Upon arrival, I was quickly served two containers, paid, and got on bicycle to return home. I rode home, and received a call from the restaurant that they had given me the wrong order. I proceeded to return to the restaurant, brought in the order that was provided to me, and was given my 2 burgers. I asked if they would be throwing away the original food (now in a damaged container that I had taken home on my bike), and was told that no, they were going to salvage the food and re-serve to another customer. I feel that is not acceptable from a safe-food handling position, nor as a restaurant striving for quality. I was initially trying to obtain some *free* food as I knew that it would likely be thrown away once I brought it back. I was shocked to learn they were planning to re-serve it to another customer.
I would like for the restaurant to change some of it practices. Most of Santa Fe knows that this place has been inconsistent for years, but we continue to support them because they have some very kind staff members and are incredibly convenient to those of us that live in the neighborhood. This will be my last trip to Tune-Up until I start seeing other independent reviews assuring me that things have improved.
I’ve been here three times now and this restaurant is consistent in quality and service. The staff is always friendly and polite. Everything we’ve had from the pupusas, pancakes, to the chilaquiles have been excellent. The prices and portions are reasonable. Clean and organized. ❤️

I wanted to like this place multiple times I’ve been there, but there was always someone working there, a waiter or a person behind the counter, who made the experience unpleasant. Their customer services gets 1 out of 5 stars from me (what’s with the attitude from the young hispanic ladies?). I’d give the food 3.5/5, not as good as it used to be yrs ago!

Came to visit Santa Fe, got in L ate but this Cafe was open!! Thank the universe!! Had beer for my boyfriend & had hot loose leaf tea for me && hats off to the chef food was amazing, servers we so sweet. definitely will be coming to tho spot every visit
