“The place is about you would expect for a small town, ita sorta a hole in the wall and dingy but there was plenty of seating and the food was good, the woman taking our order was super nice. I ordered the red stuffed sopapilla and it was crunchy and filled with plenty of meat, I was actually pretty happy with the way they make their stuffed sopapilla and could definitely see my self eating their on the weekends for breakfast or lunch with their menu. It was not at all on the expensive side and worth the stop. I definitely recommend you give it a try if you're in the area and wanting New Mexican food.“

“This Mexican restaurant is a great little place to stop if you enjoy authentic Mexican food. I thought everything was very well seasoned and spiced without being too hot for my palate. It wasn't too busy when I visited, so I received my food in a reasonable amount of time.“

“Had fish tacos at the Socorro restaurant and they were surprisingly good— mentor flaky fish that wasn’t over battered, and the didn’t skimp on the pico or crema. Will definitely be back“

“Atmosphere is out of this world. Walk into the coolest lounge/bar you can find in the state and enjoy the positively unique, effortlessly nostalgic vibe. Staff is fantastic - no nonsense, and friendly. Walking in, go right for an epic retro diner feel, go left and step in time. If you liked Paul's Monterey, back in the day, you will love El Matador!“

“As I was driving through Socorro, New Mexico; I decided to try something different. I saw the sign and pulled in. It was definitely an older establishment. Didn’t know what to expect.
Ordered the basic and traditional enchiladas with red chile. I’m glad I did.
The food was super good and the prices were very reasonable. Plenty of food on the plate.
I think the servers name was Nalina. She was very nice and polite. Even though they were short staffed, she was on it.
If you’re ever driving through Socorro, NM; I would definitely recommend stopping in at this delicious place.. 👍“

“This is one of the places where you are going to be surprised how fantastic the food is here. All of the waitstaff are friendly and professional. Shout out to Cathy! You might not realize that the Cafe is in back. Take Lemitar exit to Marathon station. Convenience store in front. Cafe in back. I have been here several times. Never a disappointing meal. Open face roast beef with real mashed potatoes, Mexican combo plate with chips and homemade salsa, Senior menu has a smaller breakfast of one egg, hashbrown, toast and bacon. Senior has small steak dinner 8oz. Everything is great here.“
