Der Garten deserves a minimum of Michelin Bib Gourmand. The innovation that Chef Asia uses in seemingly traditional cultural dishes or a simple burrata salad is second to few starred restaurants I've been to. We went two nights in a row and got to sample most of the carefully crafted menu and specials. Fittingly, the menu offerings primarily belong to Europe and Bavaria, but also included things like a masterful Dahl showing prowess in all types of cooking. The ambiance is also incredibly unique, the restaurant being in a converted residential house. Our second meal there we ate on suede armchairs and coffee table in front of a huge, roaring fireplace. And thats what it feels like, eating at home. But what I loved most about the place was Chef Asia personally bringing all of her food out to us, describing the details of each dish. As an aspiring chef myself, she even sat down with us and we talked about the technique and theory behind all of her dishes - super meaningful and a memory I’ll never forget. She is truly talented and proud of what she brings to every table - and should be!This is the best restaurant in northern New Mexico, and you'd have to work to find a place this good in Santa Fe or ABQ.They also serve draft German beer by the liter… a reason to go by itself!

Absolutely first rate outstanding food and service. We sat by the open kitchen and it was enjoyable seeing how caring these professionals prepared such great food in a relatively small kitchen. I had the dragon bowl with ahi and wow it was excellent! My wife and daughters meals were excellent as well. Definitely the best meal we had during our stay by far. Der Garten will be top on my list again when in TSV.

The last establishment at TSV with any charm or character. Excellent well crafted cuisine and fun cocktails by a warm fireplace surrounded by salvaged antique memorabilia from the old family run Taos Valley. Much more than a sandwich shop after apris ski from 2-4. For dinner service, steaks, chops, seafood and Bavarian favorites are beautifully presented by chef couple Asia and Kristof.

We're lucky we found out about this place. People are so friendly and of course the food is so good. We ordered bratwurst plate and beet salad with salmon and our friends ordered croissants melt with salad and dragon bowl. Everyone was so happy with their meals. The place is not too big but cozy so better make reservation

If I could give 10 stars I would. By far the most incredible restaurant experience I’ve ever had. An absolute MUST. The people are unbelievably kind and charismatic. The food is absolutely delicious. No other single word could better describe this place than PERFECT. The environment was extremely cozy and we never wanted to leave. Please do yourself a favor and stop by whenever you’re nearby.

Wow!! This is when you need 6 stars. Highlights were goat cheese beet salad, charcuterie board, lobster pasta, bratwurst plate (pork), ham gruyere croissant melt. Bison meatball plate was good, but meatballs could have used a little more spicy pop. Overall 6 stars. This was by far the highest quality food of our trip and service is impeccable.

We were on the last day of an extended and wonderful vacation through New Mexico. Found this gem while scouting the gorgeous drive up to Taos Ski Valley. Garden grown veg, best baguette ever, cozy surroundings. Oh, and be sure to have Asia's Pork Stew if she's got it. Amazing!
