Really unfortunate to give such low stars because the food is great, but the service was terrible. A party of 6, and we've been here for an hour or so and didn't get our drinks refilled once until towards the end when we had to ask for it. Not utensils until we asked for it. Waitress barely even stopped by to check on us at all. And what sucks the most is because we're a party of 6 our tip is automatically included, which normally is fine... But they charged us 20% for a rotten service.

We are just passing through Taos, camping in Taos RV Park, and google searched for restaurants. We had a time finding the parking lot and then the restaurant! Salsa is bland. We kept adding salt and lemon juice, very little flavor. I would suggest roasting it. We are from San Antonio, Texas, and never have to pay for chips and salsa, and the salsa is always good. I know, go back to Texas then, you say. But how do you mess up salsa? We are experts with the famous Tex-Mex back home. NM is just next door. Kip ordered the cheese enchilada plate, and he says he enjoyed it, especially the red sauce. I had the shrimp tacos. I did not so much enjoy this dish. The taco sauce flavor, a little bitter, it did not meet my expectations, though some may like the heavy cilantro onion. I asked for "light," but I wish I'd said none. I will not recommend this dish. We probably would not come back here, even if it was in San Antonio. The server was a little slow with service, not real attentive, in my fiancé's opinion, but we are used to very attentive service at the restaurants back home. Maybe they were busier than usual, it was Friday night. Overall, I was not satisfied, but Kip thought the food was okay. They sat us by the fireplace, but no fire. I would have enjoyed a fire on that chilly night.

Amazingly great restaurant. I ended up here because another restaurant was closed and I am extremely grateful! There's a beautiful patio garden, the waiters are wonderful , and the food is great! Did I mention that I had 2 margaritas? Still, it's a great restaurant and worth your visit.

We've eaten here 2 yrs in a row now on our visits to Taos and both times have been very pleased. It's a lovely atmosphere and our server was wonderful. Most important of all, the food was just delicious. We had Fajitas and it was moist, juicy, flavorful and tender. 2 great Margarita's topped of a great meal. Very pleased and will be back next year.

Probably the best tacos we’ve had. Wife had the chicken and I had the shrimp. Added homemade flan to die for. Highly recommend.

Never ate. The younger bartender and staff on a midweek afternoon were hospitable and informative to the local scene. We were just traveling through.

An authentic Mexican restaurant with good food and a good atmosphere. We asked a local policeman for the best Mexican place in Taos and he sent to Azteca. He was right.
