My husband and I chose The Gorge last night based on previous reviews and its close proximity to our hotel. For me this place has potential but it just really missed the mark.
It does have an extensive drink menu which is nice. For food, my husband ordered what was advertised as a 12oz ribeye and he ordered it medium rare. What came out looked more like a skirt steak and was well done. Disappointing to say the least. I ordered the green chile chicken alfredo pasta. It was underwhelming.
Service wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t very personal. As for atmosphere, this place has a great view of the town square and gets a decent view of the sunset. There appears to be a nice big patio, but they didn’t seem super eager to seat people out there despite it being open & the server out there being bored. The interior was rather dated and could use a refresh.

I got the Salmon which was excellent! The service was great and loved the location!
Ordered the BBQ ribs which were tragically under seasoned and topped with a glop of cold grocery store BBQ sauce. Sweet potatoes fries were undercooked and not salted. Apple cider coleslaw was quite good. Wife's steak was cooked nicely but shrimp were overcooked and rubbery. Service was borderline as host was pleasant and friendly but waitress was inattentive and curt. Overpriced and underwhelming.

I got the chicken sandwich on the lunch menu. Way too expensive for what it is and portion sizing. The aioli is absolutely awful and totally ruins the sandwich, the grilled apple is so dumb and detracts from the taste and texture of the sandwich, but the chicken and bun was stellar. The fries were really good. Pickle was pretty good. Our server was awesome. The music taste and atmosphere screams pretentious tourist restaurant. Prices definitely reflect that. Bathroom was clean but a little cramped for my taste. Room for improvement.

We were looking for dinner before a concert at Kit Carson Park. Found the Gorge with ok reviews. Most negative mentions were of service. We took the chance. Unfortunately, the reviews were right. Service was slow. Took 3-4 minutes before the host even acknowledged us standing at the host stand. Everything else was slow through the meal. Additionally, the food is very mediocre. The kids pizza is frozen and pre made. Chips are out of a bag. The pineapple on the tacos was from a can. They could do a lot to put a bit of extra effort into their food (like prepping fresh pineapple). In a pinch, it’ll get you by, but find a different place.
