deliciousness. the best meal in cape breton during the trip. local ingredients used as much as possible. try their deserts they were fantastic!
My husband and I are visiting Cape Breton over thanksgiving weekend and we’re someone about the turkey dinner option available. He had the special and I had a divine potato leek soup and salad. Everything was so fresh and delicious, and we love supporting local farmers through their farm-to-table model. Belinda was our server and she was impeccable:attentive, informative, engaging and fun. We will absolutely return next time we’re here.

An absolutely perfect meal and dining experience. Our only regret was passing on dessert so we could make the Cèilidh

Our group ate haddock, spaghetti squash parm, steak and risotto with beef. The steak was charred on the outside and too rare on the inside when we asked for medium. The potatoes cold and tasteless. Nice atmosphere but definitely too pricey for the value of what they served. They only offered two options for my dietary restrictions. Very disappointing for a place that boasts farm to table. Corn was starchy and out of season.
Pavlova was very sugary and hard. The worst I have ever had.

This was a wonderful evening. Dinner was delicious, we ordered, the beed, pork, and fish dinners, and all were amazing. Highly recommend we are already planning to go back next summer.
Dietary restrictions: Our table had allergies to nut, celery, pork, and seafood. The staff were happy to work with us yo ensure each member of our party had a great night.

An absolutely lovely enviornment to have dinner. A beautiful restaurant. Staff were friendly, helpful and well versed in food choices. Would highly recommend if in the Baddeck, NS. area
The food was fresh, creative, tasty and presented in a pleasing display. Nice selection of cocktails and wine. Atmosphere was stylishly nautical, cozy and tasteful. We enjoyed the quiet ambiance and attentive service. All of this provided for an enjoyable experience for our evening in Baddeck.
For the restaurant only, not the hotel. Food was delicious. It is obvious that great care goes into the ingredients and presentation. Fresh, local ingredients. Tasty. We had the lobster salad, the pork tenderloin and the haddock. All were fantastic. Service friendly, attentive (without being smothering), and did not take forever. After traveling throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, and encountering many places offering pretty much the same types of meals, it was wonderful to find this little oasis. Highly recommended.

This was our first time here and the overall experience was great. The service was stelkar and the only area for improvement was that the lobster risotto could have had more lobster besides just two claws. Presentation was great as was timing. I would highly recommend the experience and value for anyone traveling through or staying at the inn.

This is the best overall restaurant I have ever been too. I will remember it always. The food was made with the freshest local ingredients and was delicious! The ambience and wait staff were excellent and the dining room is lovely and cozy. Wish there were more restaurants like this! You don't want to miss this one!!!!
Not sure what all the hype is about. I would say - Meh. Food was okay. But more important the service was pretty poor for a place that bills itself as more “fine dining”. We ordered cocktails. My husband asked for a simple Manhattan - the waitress only could make drinks that were on their menu??? A Manhattan is a pretty basic drink. Then we asked to sit and sip our drinks for a few minutes before ordering. The waitress said she would have to check to see if that was okay because our table was booked for a later party and we would need to move along!!! Really, I realize you need to turn tables but to be pushed along after 5 minutes of sitting down is not what I'm looking for in a quiet, relaxing dinner experience. Not impressed. Beyond that portions small and food lack luster. Would not recommend.
From the time we enter Cable Restaurant in the Telegraph Hotel until we left two hours later we were impressed. Our waitress, Judy, was patient and knowledgeable, owner, Shaun, stopped by and was a pleasure to learn about the history of the restaurant and we even met his daughter, Jerriann, who will probably be the 6th generation owner. As far as food is concerned we had a wonderful bottle of Valpolicella, great potato-leek soup, a green salad wth some berries that we didn't recognize but enjoyed ( cucamelon and ground cherries), tenderloin steak which was very tender, baked haddock with was very flavorful and two delightful desserts; pot de creme, maple ice cream with meringue surrounding it and a ounce of maple-flavored vodka to pour over it or drink straight. In brief....we had a marvelous experience.
Câble Room was an excellent choice. The food was delicious and fresh. The server Judy was wonderful. She made recommendations and even though someone in our party had a food intolerance she was very helpful as to what they could have on the menu. I would highly recommend!
The ambience, white linens on tables, flowers on tables, cocktails, appetizers, mains, dessert, wine list and most of all the service from friendly and helpful staff was wonderful.
