This facility is run on a shoe string budget but unfortunately the string is broken. Tired and drab would be a good way to sum it up. Add to that over priced. Read all the 1 and 2 star reviews below and you get the picture. Do not stay here. There are much nicer places to stay in Baddock.

My husband and I won a stay a play package for the Inverary Resort and Bell bay golf course. We added an extra night to the package, which we paid out of pocket for. To start, the spa made me feel like an extreme inconvenience for trying to book services there, when you call to book it says that they’re closed on almost everyday of the week but they’re willing to come in if you book multiple services which is what I was trying to do and the entire process was long and multiple people had to call me back on different days it was messy. I ended up canceling and going to my local spa. I got promised a beautiful king room and instead of the main lodge room we agreed upon we ended up in an old musty tiny room with carpet in the cambell hall? It was dusty, musty, and possibly had pets in it at some point. (I don’t have pets and have allergies) the beds didn’t have proper bed protection or fitted sheets, just flat sheets over mattresses as well as a duvet insert sandwiched between two more flat sheets. The bed overall was very uncomfortable and left me feeling stiff after two days of sleeping on it. Upon booking this two night stay I mentioned to the booking lady that this would be my husbands and I honeymoon as we couldn’t celebrate due to covid, I had been saving for this trip for a long time and was promised that we would get some small gift or something personal from the resort as a honeymoon gift, which didn’t happen. Lakeside restaurant on property… breakfast was terrible, they serve bagged instant egg, and grey hard boiled eggs, cheapest sausages on the market, cheapest hash brown, and I work in the restaurant industry so I know. The “fine dining” dinner was far from fine dining the food was okay for dinner but my salad came out soggy, the lettuce wasn’t properly dried before dressing. We also got the spinach salad which was good, the mussels which were good and the salmon which was okay. The wine was nice, and the dessert we had was nice too. The best part of dining was the servers, they were all wonderful and lovely. Bell bay was a beautiful course, it was in great shape. The only downfall was that they didn’t have our t time in their system even though it was booked well in advance, but I think that was a resort mistake and not a bell bay mistake. The staff at the course worked quickly to get us a new tee time and they did a wonderful job. The highlight of the trip was the heated pool which we did take advantage of. The bartenders were great and made delicious drinks, as I mentioned before the servers were lovely. The town of Baddeck is very sweet and will always be a favourite of mine but I will likely never return to the Inverary.

Stayed here with a tour group for 2 nights. Our room was depressing, unvacumed, and had a tv that was 18” diagonal. The furniture was old, bathroom heater all rusted. The bed was comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast was Ho- hum. We don’t be back!

The reception lady was polite, and helpfull, with lots of information for us and other guest. The room was quaint, clean and suitable for our purpose. We found the bathroom quite small, but for a historic inn, that's to be expected. A full Buffet breakfast was included in the price, which was lovely.

We didn't stay at the resort, but had dinner at the restaurant one evening in Baddeck. The meal was good and nicely presented. The restaurant has a nice view of the water and has a casual atmosphere.

A beautiful location, we had a lovely view of the waterfront from our window. Quiet room, had all the amenities needed. Pool and hot tub available to guests which is always a bonus, it was very clean. We spent time in the lovely bar, the staff working there (Joy in particular) were very friendly and accommodating to us, there was a really positive atmosphere. We also ate in the bar, the food was lovely. We didn't have breakfast included, but we didn't expect it due other accommodations we visited with the same arrangements, but there were enough options only a short walk away from the resort. We felt relaxed, safe and secure, there was ample parking here too which is always a bonus. Would happily stay here again. Many thanks.

On arrival this looked just the perfect resort, but unfortunately our experience here was awful. The resort reception is very modern as is the bar area, so on arrival things looked good. We were offered 2 rooms in the Old Barn and as soon as we entered that building it smelt musty and was extremely dated with no lifts available – we were on the 2nd floor (top floor). The visible bedding looked worn/grubby. On trying to open a window, it came out in my friend’s hand! Reception telephoned 10 mins after arrival to ask if we were happy with the rooms and we indicated we weren’t. Apparently nothing else was available and we’d just have to accept these rooms. I went across to reception and spoke to the person on duty and explained about the window (apparently that’s supposed to happen?!!!!) and the musty smells/bedding covers. I could tell I was an absolute inconvenience for him. He then started to look at other options and finally came up with a 2 bedroom suite with lounge/kitchenette. We accepted it as it was wooden flooring and less smelly, but still very very dated and way short of what we’d expect. The beds were comfortable, but the furniture throughout was badly scratched and marked and the kitchenette was of little use as it didn’t have enough crockery/cutlery for 4 and it had no knives at all! One of the ensuite bathrooms had no working lights – this was reported and fixed the next day as it was too late to report it when we discovered the problem. This suite was on the 3rd floor (top floor) of another building, again with no lifts, and no offer of assistance with luggage. The breakfast staff in the restaurant were very friendly and attentive, but we were definitely seen as a burden to reception staff (apart from the more mature check-out lady who was very pleasant). Don't be fooled by the pictures/reviews online as both places we were offerred couldn’t be further away from what's seen online. We would absolutely not recommend this resort and I expect there are many better options in Baddeck.

Lovely setting Rooms were a little small and the decor needs modernising. All very clean just a bit dated and bathrooms need some attention. We enjoyed our stay. Ate at the hotels on site restaurant and both dinner and breakfast were substantial and good. Very friendly service

My stay at Inverary was 2 nights. It is a perfect jumping off point for the Cabot Trail. They have entertainment each night and Rob McLean played virtually every request. Shout out to Chloe as a server in the main lodge. This is a very welcoming resort with many styles of buildings to stay in. Everything is within walking distance. I would stay here again without a doubt.

We ate dinner at the Lakeside restaurant on site which is open to the public, although we did not stay at the resort. Reservations are required. The seating was nice and offered a beautiful view of Bras d’Or Lake in Baddeck. Outdoor seating is available, however the weather was quite cool when we visited so all dining was inside. The menu had a nice selection of seafood and other choices. The food was very good The only downside was that among the guests was a table of 15 from a wedding party that were quite loud. The resort features a venue for weddings, hence the party. Of course, this is to be expected and I’m sure they had a lovely time. I hate to complain about such a thing, but be aware of this possibility when dining. Perhaps inquire when making reservations.

Had a great dinner here. Live music was a plus! Everything was good. Large portions! Nachos, burger, and fish and chips were delicious. Nice outdoor seating with tables and couches. Good selection of local beers bottled and on tap. This is located in the main building of the resort and was a surprise when we checked in. Tried it out twice during our stay and I would go back regardless of staying at the property.
