Okay, as a regular sushi eater, I was very happy with my experience at Sushi Maru. Their main selling point unquestionably is the quality of the ingredients used, which is top notch. The selection is good, they are generous with moat of their offerings and the service is excellent. The seating arrangement is a little tight though. Overall, a 5 star experience, highly recommended.

It's not bad, but it's not exactly a culinary masterpiece – more like a casual “meh”.Sweet potato features in nearly every roll, even the spacy salmon. If that's your preference, this place might still tickle your taste buds.

First of all, the service is amazing. Second, the sushi is some of the best in Halifax. Third, the atmosphere is unique and cozy. The tempura is really something else. I had no idea it could be that good. Not sure what they do differently from all the other restaurants, but it’s working! The lunch menu has some terrific options. Great options all around on the menu. Great prices. My favourite restaurant. The owner who often serves is such a beautiful soul. I wish her and her staff all the best.

Food is delicious and fresh, atmosphere is cozy and warm:) we had salmon nigiri, shrimp nigiri and sashimi rice& shrimp tempura udon. So yummy and make me feel comfy:) Can’t wait visit again!
The restaurant is lovely decorated well! Tables are spaced nicely, service was very good and friendly! Not a scent free restaurant. The stuffies for the kids to play with while they wait was a nice touch! The food was very good! We had the classy party tray it was enough for 4 light eaters or 3 heavy eaters lots of fresh nigiri and sashimi! The dragon roll had a lot of Pollock in it which I'm not a fan of, but no stars taken away because it is a standard in sushi restaurants here. The best piece was the secret garden roll! Real crab, so good!

Simply the best sushi in Halifax! I am a pretty die hard sushi fan, so I have tried almost all the places you can think of. I live close to this location so I decided to stop in one day and order takeout. I was not disappointed and have been a regular customer of theirs ever since. The sushi is always extremely fresh, and the service is always warm. I wholeheartedly recommend you try them out!
