My friend and I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken. I must say we were both very disappointed and won’t be returning.
Got my to-go order in last minute thank you! The lobster roll was packed and hit the spot. Delicious.
Last night was not my first time at this restaurant. I consider it an above average restaurant. So when my out-of-town friends came for a visit, I called for reservations, and I was excited that my party of 4 was able to be squeezed in on a night that featured live music!
Boy! Was I ever shocked when I got there!!

Located in the village of Canning, Dickie Baxter Taproom & Bistro is a local family owned five star gem. The food is exceptional from appetizer and main course. Amazing service makes the meal an experience, with staff who are very accommodating, friendly, and do a great job answering questions. The brunch on the weekend is worth the drive. The eggs benny with five different topping choices are a must try, including Atlantic cold smoked salmon on two homemade tea biscuits. The home fires are the real thing, cooked to perfection. The coffee is served in individual French presses. Quality, quantity and service is outstanding. The restaurant and washrooms are extremely clean. Guests enjoy the cozy lay out and look forward to the patio. The menu and wine list surpass expectations. A very positive experience overall.
