The New Stretch Diner (Really Good Fish & Chips)

Hello l just wanted everyone to know that this place is not worth visiting. They advised seniors discount seven days a week. When I asked for the seniors discount the clerk at the cash said that did not apply to my 55.00 dollar order and waiting over 30 minutes. She was not very helpful and very short with me as a customer. I will not be returning to this business. They are visually not looking for a return customer in this small village.

Stopped in for an early dinner with friends. Burgers were amazing and a mountain of homemade fries. Definitely worth the stop!

I was told to check the Stretch Diner out next time i was in Chester and glad i did . The Fish was perfect either you can cook it right or not and they do it right .

The waitress Trudy was amazing, great service, met you at door with smile, dress for sixty, made you like you were her only customer. The food was delicious & hot .Hope to return again.

SO good. This is the James dean burger with fries and it did NOT disappoint!! Burger was so flavourful and the fries were cooked perfectly. Staff were so friendly and nice!

Wish theyd serve scallops. Otherwise worth the 98km drive for me

What a pleasant surprise this place was. Great food and service. Came in last night at 6:30 and it was close to closing time but they found us a table on a busy night and we were out of there by 7. Highly recommend the hot turkey sandwich and the hand cut fries were incredible.

Fish was cooked perfectly and delicious , server Trudy made the dining experience do much fun

Great diner atmosphere, friendly staff that really played up the diner experience and 60’s era, and generous portions. We really enjoyed the fish and chips!

We were really disappointed with our overall experience. We arrived with only 2 other tables of 2 people seated in the restaurant. One was already served. It took 55 minutes for our burger and fries and chicken strips and fries to arrive at the table. The fries were cold and soggy, soaked with grease. The burger and chicken strips were very bland. Equally as disappointing was that a table that arrived 25 minutes after us was served food 10 minutes before ours arrived. We were looking forward to trying the food here after seeing several Facebook posts and this was a let down. The restaurant itself is small so it’s difficult for them to do anything about this but it was also freezing with the door opening and closing. Staff were nice to us but pretty short, no apology for the long wait time, a bit rude over the phone to someone trying to order, and a bit noisy talking to each other. Both of us did not finish our food and feel sick 10 minutes after leaving. Photo attached of the fries - honestly I think they look better in this photo than they did in person.
