“Holy smokes. Where do I start? Thanks to the entire Canteen family - and I say FAMILY purposefully as you feel the family atmosphere as soon as you arrive - for hosting our team for dinner last week. We booked out the whole restaurant and they did just what we hoped for: Maritime hospitality, wonderful, genuine service and knock-your-socks off food. The team from across Canada went bananas over the Crobster sandwich. The special welcome from the owners was a lovely touch. The guests raved all the way back across the harbour on the ferry about the wonderful meal from start to finish. It’s a lovely space that is not pretentious and puts an emphasis on fantastic food and exemplary service, with a genuine smile. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Well worth a trip across the bridge! I rarely go to Dartmouth, but had an appointment this aft. Walking back to my car, I noticed this cute spot, Portland Street Creperie and decided to check it out. So glad I did! I’ll definitely be back. The owner and his staff member of many years greeted me with a warm welcome and good suggestions. It was a bonus to discover Neil shares a love of Kraftwerk! I’m so jealous that he will be seeing them for the third time 🤦‍♀️. Oh, and the crepes - fabulous! Definitely recommended!“

Today my husband is celebrating one year cancer free, and she treated us like family providing exquisite and delicious meals, she also sent us home with a some cherry cheese cake on the house. And to Anton ( hope I spelt his name correctly as well) for coming over to say hello and remember us from our last visit. To say that we are beyond happy would be an understatement. The service, the food and the welcoming staff truly separates this restaurant from all the others. Thanks again for making my husbands day, you really made him feel special and loved. “A very sophisticated, clean, and welcoming café. I had a flat white along with an espresso brownie. The coffee was excellent, and the brownie was very tasty—slightly firm on the outside but soft and rich on the inside. The lady at the counter, who I believe may be the owner, was extremely kind, and everyone was warm and friendly. Overall, a lovely spot with great coffee and a nice atmosphere.“

“The Wooden Monkey has long been our designated night out spot and for very good reason. From food that you'll savor every bite, some of it not the best service I've received in Halifax to the wonderful views this isn't a restaurant I would skip. Our favorite is probably the braised beef, and it's wonderful to know they have such a focus on sustainability and locally sourced ingredients.“

“I've eaten here many times and I'm never disappointed. The staff are always warm and friendly and the food is exactly what I expect - good! Their spanikopita topped with the feta sauce is the best I've had anywhere. All this for a very reasonable price. Opa!!“

“My family attended for a birthday gathering, and my son who is 4 had the absolute best time! They had children's chopsticks for him to learn with and he loved he. He ate almost an entire bowl of Miso Raman by himself. Toddlers are notoriously picky eaters, but he loves this Ramen!

Our family tried lots of dishes that everyone loved and took extras home.

I like their signature non alcoholic mixed drinks, and they had a nice selection of vegetarian rolls for someone who doesn't eat fish too.

One of the best pad thai I've had in a long time. Asked for medium spice and it was perfect. Definitely will return. Google won't let me upload a picture for some reason.“

“after living in halifax for over 4 years i must say the most disappointing customer service and most hurtful incident of RACIAL profiling I ever had to deal with has been at the Burnside freshii..... after walking in between meetings while talking to my business partner on the phone, I was refused service by the MANAGER . who told me he will not serve me.... when asked why he refused to serve me he told me I was disrespecting him by coming to his cashier register on my phone...... of course this manager them walked around from his counter walked right into my face to intimidate me..... when i proceeded to try to make my order after been hungry running back and forth to meetings all day he proceeded to call the police... thanks to freshii Burnside I am once again reminded that my appearance is either threatening or offensive.... either way it was made clear that my kind is not welcome.....!!!“

“We visit this pub before shopping at Costco. Let me tell you, a filling and satisfying meal and a pint make the whole experience much easier! We love Seamus David's. The food is consistently delicious and the servers are very kind and easy to talk to. The beer selection is great too! The atmosphere is cozy and warm.“

“Can't rate the atmosphere cause when we go it's brief. Normally used delivery but the drivers are amazing and so is the food. Highly recommend the Philly steak pizza which is the normal for me but my son loves the garlic fingers and wings and ceasear salad. I had the club tonight and the sandwich was delicious and so was the serving of fries at a decent price. When we do go to the location it's conveniently located by my son's school and for roughly 14 bucks we both get a huge slice of pizza and 2 cans of pop. “We have been to this restaurant a couple times and the food has blown us away. Absolutely delicious, nice quiet atmosphere, very friendly and attentive staff. We are so upset to learn that the landlord does not plan to renew the lease next spring. We hope they will reconsider because this restaurant is a gem. This would definitely be our go-to for date night. Try it out! We will definitely be back!“
