“Well worth a trip across the bridge! I rarely go to Dartmouth, but had an appointment this aft. Walking back to my car, I noticed this cute spot, Portland Street Creperie and decided to check it out. So glad I did! I’ll definitely be back. The owner and his staff member of many years greeted me with a warm welcome and good suggestions. It was a bonus to discover Neil shares a love of Kraftwerk! I’m so jealous that he will be seeing them for the third time 🤦‍♀️. Oh, and the crepes - fabulous! Definitely recommended!“

“We had almost given up on finding parking in the area (super busy due to a music festival) but are VERY glad we did not give up.
The Brussel sprouts were some of the best we'd EVER had, and the bernaise and the chili combined for amazing flavours. The burgers (Pig Mac & deluxe) were tasty, juicy and full of flavour, and the fries were fresh cut and delicious.
Great selection of beers, and the service was attentive and friendly.“

Thanks to the entire Canteen family - and I say FAMILY purposefully as you feel the family atmosphere as soon as you arrive - for hosting our team for dinner last week. We booked out the whole restaurant and they did just what we hoped for: Maritime hospitality, wonderful, genuine service and knock-your-socks off food. The team from across Canada went bananas over the Crobster sandwich. The special welcome from the owners was a lovely touch. The guests raved all the way back across the harbour on the ferry about the wonderful meal from start to finish. It’s a lovely space that is not pretentious and puts an emphasis on fantastic food and exemplary service, with a genuine smile. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Cafe Marco Polo delights on all fronts. A great selection of in-house baked good (the carrot cake is my favourite); lot's of sandwiches (Montreal smoked meat hits the spot every time); breakfast fare (their in-house breakfast sandwich is yummy!); and friendly, attentive staff. They feature an espresso roast that is one of my favourites on either side of the harbour. The space is great to hang out in—at times bustling, at others, peacefully quiet.“

“Small cozy restaurant hidden at the corner of a small business zone. Friendly staff, normal prices, very tasty food. I would have given the place 5 stars, but the portion was too small. It was just normal salad, tasty rice with unusual pleasant aftertaste and a very tasty meat. It was only pity that it was too small in comparation to average portions here in Canada in other restaurants.“

Today my husband is celebrating one year cancer free, and she treated us like family providing exquisite and delicious meals, she also sent us home with a some cherry cheese cake on the house. And to Anton ( hope I spelt his name correctly as well) for coming over to say hello and remember us from our last visit. To say that we are beyond happy would be an understatement. “I came here for the first time, found the place good and great hospitality. I was confused on what to try - they've given me many options to choose from. I am so pleased by their meat lovers pizza , it was fully loaded and their donair was the best in town. I highly recommend.“

“My family attended for a birthday gathering, and my son who is 4 had the absolute best time! They had children's chopsticks for him to learn with and he loved he. He ate almost an entire bowl of Miso Raman by himself. Toddlers are notoriously picky eaters, but he loves this Ramen!

Our family tried lots of dishes that everyone loved and took extras home.

I like their signature non alcoholic mixed drinks, and they had a nice selection of vegetarian rolls for someone who doesn't eat fish too.

Excellent location. There's a playground in Dartmouth crossing right outside. Plenty of traffic. They have bathrooms but there are also public bathrooms outside.“

One of the best pad thai I've had in a long time. Asked for medium spice and it was perfect. Definitely will return. Google won't let me upload a picture for some reason.“

“My wife and I went out for wings and beer. The wings were great and beer were ice cold and crisp. Those were great but the best part was the service. “If you’re looking for a good atmosphere and good food/drinks this is the place to go in Dartmouth. I stumbled in here one night and ended up meeting the owner and sharing conversation with other patrons and employees. The staff were wonderful and very friendly. The experience alone is worth going back. The food and drinks were really good and a fair price. I highly recommend.“

“after living in halifax for over 4 years i must say the most disappointing customer service and most hurtful incident of RACIAL profiling I ever had to deal with has been at the Burnside freshii..... after walking in between meetings while talking to my business partner on the phone, I was refused service by the MANAGER . who told me he will not serve me.... when asked why he refused to serve me he told me I was disrespecting him by coming to his cashier register on my phone...... of course this manager them walked around from his counter walked right into my face to intimidate me..... when i proceeded to try to make my order after been hungry running back and forth to meetings all day he proceeded to call the police... thanks to freshii Burnside I am once again reminded that my appearance is either threatening or offensive.... either way it was made clear that my kind is not welcome.....!!!“

“We have gone twice now. Had pizza, poutine, chicken burgers. We loved the food each time! Didn’t eat in, but waited for our food in the restaurant. We did not pay attention to the cleanliness. The first time we went, there was a team of three guys working, it was very busy. They multi tasked great together-had a good vibe- were really friendly! Would have been a 5 for service but the second time it was just one guy, and he was busyish; however friendliness shouldn’t affect that. He wasn’t rude, but he wasn’t friendly either. lolEither way! “We loved the food! My husband and I went for a quick bite before our movie and we were seated, served and settled up just in time. We ordered half salads and they did not disappoint, our server made a great recommendation. We’ll be back to try some bigger bites.
The decor could be updated to match the quality they’re delivering. It’s definitely a comfortable and cozy space. There was one staff member I could overhear make a complaint to a server about seating choices, we chose the only window seating over the back.“
