Enjoyable tour! Lots of history and great sense of pride demonstrated. All staff were engaging and hospitable. We enjoyed the entertainment portions of the tour.
Our 7yo son was not as engaged until the section with the games. He enjoyed his many samples of lemonade though!
Looking to spend a fun hour while in Halifax, this is a can’t miss venue. The tour was excellent and provided lots excellent details about the history of the brewery.
Of course there were plenty of occasions to try some excellent beer. The end of the tour featured a fun visit to their bar. There was entertainment and a chance to have a couple more beers. After the tour we visited the gift shop which was well priced for a tourist spot.
Had a great time with this tour! Small, entertaining and fun! Plenty of beer tasting and non alcoholic options as well!
Quite light on content but fun and plenty of beer. There wasn’t a single Scottish song at the ceilidh, Mr Keith would be rolling in his highland grave
Fun activity to do! A quick brewery tour, multiple beers to taste and fun music to enjoy at the end
Went to buy our kids sone Alexander Keith’s T-shirts. Before got there, we were thinking of taking the tour, however all the tour spots were full except one at the end of the day. My wife didn’t want to wait 4 hours for the next available tour, so we got T-shirts, took photos and went to tour the rest of the City.
Great tour! We are on vacation from Toronto and this tour was far superior to any brewery tours we have done locally. Really enjoyed learning about the history and the live performances. Lots of samples to try plus options to ask for more. It was a little long for my 6 yo but they had some games that they enjoyed! Plus lemonade!
Really cool tour though the facility, museum pieces, and ending at the historic bar. includes 4 samples (2x 5oz and 2x 10oz). Non-alcoholic options are available as well, and the tickets are cheaper! I recommend booking online as the tours do fill up.
Really enjoyed this brewery tour. They have some great historic artifacts, interesting history, and a good number of beer samples! It was a really nice experience.
We went on the 10am tour on Friday July 4th. The tour guides were excellent and we really enjoyed their stories and the beer.

I had such a great time on Alexander Keith’s brewery tour — it completely exceeded my expectations! It wasn’t just about beer tasting (though the beers were excellent); it was also a fascinating look into the brewery’s origins and its role in Nova Scotia’s history. The hosts were all friendly and welcoming, and the lead guide who took over partway through was especially memorable (Jamie) — super funny, engaging, and really brought the tour to life. The live music was cherry on top! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun, informative, and well-run experience!
Great tour, interesting history, friendly guides! Recommend!
A Must-Do in Halifax – Cheers to Keith’s!
We had an absolute blast on the Alexander Keith’s Brewery Tour! It was the perfect mix of history, entertainment, and fantastic beer. The staff were outstanding—every single person involved in the tour made it fun, friendly, and memorable.
The live music gave it a true Nova Scotian feel—like a good old-fashioned céilí. That touch of East Coast charm really brought it all together. We also loved the variety of beer samples—great selection and generous pours!
This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Halifax. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy some local flavour and a great time. 🍻
I took the Alexander Keith’s Brewery Tour and had a fantastic time! The tour was engaging from start to finish, with a great mix of history, storytelling, and fun entertainment. The staff really brought the experience to life. The beer samples were excellent and added to the overall atmosphere. A must-do if you’re in Halifax and appreciate good beer and a bit of local history.
Although AK's isn't our first choice of Nova Scotia beers, this was hands down the BEST brewery tour we've ever taken...
- The length was just right at one hour (I don't need to hear about beer for 1.5+ hours).
- Lots of interesting Nova Scotia history throughout the tour.
- Beer tastings throughout!
- The tour ends at their historic pub, where guests received two glasses of their choice, and the staff members performed live music!
