I used to come here but last few times have been hard to stomach. The avacado toast was a smear of avacado cream and anemic tomato and today the pumpkin pie (9$) was a tiny slice of thin crust with maybe 5ml top of pumpkin. Not feeling it at all.

There are MUCH better places to go in the area. Cafe Byron and Ramblers are miles better than this overpriced instagram cafe. I’m shocked at how bad the coffee and food is at Lara.

It's one of the coffee places in the city that put a lot of care into how it looks and feels but none into the actual coffee served.
IF you want stale overpriced baked goods and burned Tim Hortons quality coffee than this is the place for you. If not, try ramblers down the road, try Cafe Byron, try almost any other place.

Cozy cafe sums things up nicely. Stopped in for a quick bite and some java. Avacodo on toast was very good, a long with the chocolate croissant. Drip coffee was excellent, although I think I should have tried the maple latte. Looks really good.
Absolutely amazing coffee.Don't waste your time with tim hortons and hurry up and get down here. Interesting community board worth looking at.

The prices have gotten outrageous! $6 for a bagel? And they are tiny, kinda waiting for cafe Byron to take this place out due to their over inflated prices when there’s 57 coffee shops in Halifax with better pricing and Byron’s got a big buzz around it. $14 for a basic breakfast sandwhich?! Too bad becuase this place is nice but the prices went up like almost double without the quality going up or the size….

Love the vibes, food, drink and service at Lara’s! The new fall flavours are so fun, especially the spiced brown sugar which I’ve not found anywhere else! I’m also a big fan of their pumpkin spice, it’s not too sweet or artificial tasting and they told me it’s homemade which is a bonus!

I came because I heard great things about this cafe. It’s super cute, great atmosphere and fun for groups of friends but… the coffee is so so bad. My moms hot vanilla latte was fine but mine were not. I tried two iced almond milk lattes. The first one was the salted caramel (new flavour), it was undrinkable. It tasted like a salt packet was mixed with coffee (there was no caramel). If you like sea salt lattes this one is for you! So after two sips I ordered an iced vanilla latte. It was so sour but it was almost $9 so I drank half. Maybe I just went at a bad time? I’ll try again in a couple months.
