“Love the Stubborn Goat. Have been there for drinks and on our recent trip to Halifax, we ate there as well. Great food, drinks, people and atmosphere. Will definitely make it a “go to” when we are in Halifax. Maggie our bartender was amazing!“

“Food was great as usual. Service was excellent. Our server, Jenna, was so pleasant, knowledgable and attentive. The food came out quickly, even quicker than a Tim Horton's drive-thru or in-house at any "fast food" restaurant. Very impressed.“

“Been coming to Jim's regularly every week for years. Never been disappointed by food or service. Great menu at reasonable costs. Highly recommended.“

“11/10. Absolutely phenomenal experience. They are SO patient and SO experienced. Nothing is out of the question as they can make anything possible. Your booking includes set-up and tear down by the staff, HUGE win. The staff were all so lovely and helpful. And obviously the space is GORGEOUS; very little decorations are even needed in the romantic moody room. We did our ceremony on the roof and it was SO special. Food incredible. We did a standing cocktail dinner and we had more than enough and continue to received compliments over the menu. This is SUCH an awesome spot!“

“I ordered take away and it was great. The meals were part of the festival line. Food was cooked well, just as we ordered. It was bought out relatively quickly. Service was excellent. As with everywhere, is a definite increase in prices from previous years.“

“Took my bestie here for happy hour and lunch on Valentine's Day ~2:30pm. The restaurant was not busy. Our server was nice, but largely MIA. Had to flag them down for another drink after our glasses were empty ~15 mins. Again, it wasn't busy. We tried to order a final drink 15 mins before happy hour ended and were told no, because they had more reservations arriving. I'm sure that was true, but we were surrounded by empty tables, and there was time for another drink. I thought the idea behind happy hour was to serve people lots of drinks? Haha. Nice food, nice happy hour menu, but really lackluster service.“

“My sister took me out and I loved it. I’ve also done Harvey’s too as in New Glasgow we have no Harvey’s. Server was cavelle. So reliable and polite and caring to our needs. It was not too crowded or noisy. I loved the fact that you can order from both menus. As some are not beef eaters. Very convenient. I’m glad I got a chance to go there. Actually we went there twice . One to one side and one to other side of establishment. I wish there were more locations.“

“Five stars. And honestly… I’m confused. Why is it that Dartmouth and Dartmouth Crossing Swiss Chalets feel like ongoing science experiments, while Bedford is out here quietly nailing it?
Serious question.
Main Street Dartmouth has had so many health inspection issues it’s basically part of the lore at this point. Dartmouth Crossing? A recurring disappointment—complete with what can only be described as a fetish for mixing warm and cool white lighting in the same room. It’s like eating rotisserie chicken inside a lighting aisle at Home Depot.
And yet… Bedford Swiss Chalet is consistently clean, calm, well-run, and—somehow—pleasant.
Food? Hot, fresh, and exactly what Swiss Chalet is supposed to be.
Dining room? Clean. Like… actually clean.
Staff? Friendly, efficient, and not visibly traumatized by the dinner rush.
It feels like someone in Bedford cracked a code the other locations either lost or never had. Better management? Better systems? Better vibes? No idea. But it’s working.
Whatever Bedford is doing differently—keep doing it. And maybe send a delegation up the road.
I shouldn’t be surprised by a Swiss Chalet that just… works. But here we are.“
