Went to Darrells with my family after seeing so many positive things about them online. We had 3 servers come to the table over the course of our meal and every.single.one was awesome. Between checking to see if we needed anything to how the food was, to stopping by and making conversation when we grabbed the bill, excellent.
The food arrived quick and it was presented so nicely. Great size portions and the milkshake even came with another full milkshake! The darrell fries are also delicious. If youre looking for a great spot for the price or a place to bring your family to eat, i couldnt recommend darrells enough

I've been a frequent customer of Darrell's and mostly love their Darrell fries poutine and burgers. I always highly recommend it to friends who visit downtown Halifax for the food and service. I don't know why but the person bringing in the drinks and food seemed quite miffed with us coming in and it felt she just handed out the menu and took the order and I ordered the Darrell fries poutine which was forgotten and then got the regular fries poutine to which I didn't want to raise it as a concern cause it took about half an hour already. She didn't expect I'd tip or something but I did generously even though the service was below substandard than usual. Never promoting this place again. I wish it was what it used to be for me. Sorry but it was disappointing tonight.

ate there last night, the milkshakes are in fact deserving of their accolades. portions are big and a good bang for your buck. the only thing i'm a little bummed avout is the lack of vegetarian options, there are certainly plant-based foods on the meny but they're prepared on the same grill and in the same oil as the meat (i'm not eating this meat for religious reasons so it really needs to not touch my food), though i understand that having an extra fryer and/or grill for plant-based foods would be pricey and take up more space so i completely get why they can't do that. our server was amazing, super helpful both in serving our food and giving us advice as vacationers who've never been to the province before. she accomodated our requests and explained foods to us when we were confused. if it was possible to give servers a raise i think she deserves one, my family had a lovelg time.
