After going to Darrellâs for over 6 years and getting the sampler every time, I am now now disappointed. Since I had it last, about 3 or 4 months ago theyâve increased the price about 10% and got rid of about half of the meal. They used to give you wedges and spring rolls with the sampler but not anymore, and theyâve still upped the price. It may also be a coincidence that I got the runs a little over an hour after eating it. Unfortunately this has turned me off Darrelâs and I donât see myself going back. The first picture is the portion of food that I used to get since I started going to Darrelâs and the second picture is of what they now call their âsamplerâ.

Very good food. Service was non existing. I had to get my own salt n pepper, and hot sauce. No one asked how my food was, or if I needed a refill on my drink.

Tried to place order on phone, told they aren't allowed to do that anymore. Your automated system should tell ahead of time. That's stupid. Went to restaurant in person, was ignored at the door. I'll never be back. Such a shame, this used to be a stellar location I'd recommended, not anymore. Cheers!

Bad service, staff donât even notice and tries to ignore. Except for few, rest staff is bad, donât think they are trained well to serve all dine or take out. Take out customers are like invisible to them.
The food is absolutely delicious. The service is great. Overall a must-try place if you come to Halifax.

Ordered the chicken strips with Darrell fries. Really enjoyed the Darrell fries as they are a thick wedge cut fry seasoned with a some nice flavor. The chicken strips have a light pepper flavor that's subtle but I do wish they were juicier with a bit more punchy flavor.
Overall I would recommend getting the Darrell fries if given the option with your meal. The chicken was good but left a bit more to be desired.
The best old fashion and back to the classic burger and milkshake places that I have been to in years. Good service, prices were excellent for the high quality! Even has a good appetizer special. Their fried mac and cheese bites were a hit with our picky 8 year old. Terrific all around.
