Very classy! A great place for a solo date or a romantic date or professional date too. Meals are also not exorbitantly priced.
Will be coming back!

Our server and the staff were amazing. They accommodated a medical diet for someone we dined with and we watched them deliver a pair of glasses to someone who needed to see the menu better! The food was outstanding. I can’t wait to come back.

Excellent food, can't say enough. Appetizers were creative and presented beautifully. Menu is good length; not too long and not too short. Location can't be improved upon. Service was very good but not at true “fine dining” level. Water tasted funny/bad. Coffee was excellent.
• Compared to a classic lobster roll, this croissant version feels more elevated: the pastry is richer, and the aioli gives a different flavor profile than a simple buttered or mayo-based lobster roll.
• Against other upscale seafood sandwiches in Halifax, this stands out because of its pastry base — very few places would pair lobster with a house-made croissant.
• In Drift’s own menu context, it matches their “Atlantic Canadian classics with a twist” philosophy.
• Would I recommend it? Yes — absolutely, especially for someone looking for a refined, indulgent lunch that celebrates Nova Scotia lobster in a creative way.
• This is a dish to savor, not just to treat as a quick bite.
• It’s particularly well-suited for visitors who want a taste of local seafood done elegantly, or locals looking for a special lunch stop.

Food was amazing and service was outstanding! It was a little loud. We were two friends having dinner and were stuck out in the middle between a table for two on the window side and a table of eight on the other side. We asked for a different table but they were busy and the empty tables were for people with later reservations.
Drift is a beautifully designed restaurant. Loved the atmosphere. Very cozy. Great for a special occasion and or a date. The menu was quite interesting and everything we ordered we enjoyed. Thought it was a great culinary experience. We highly recommend it.
Salmon was cooked to perfection . They substituted Risotto for roasted potatoes. Nathan was a great server. Drinks were excellent. We use to go a lot when they first opened, and I think somewhere along the way they lost their mojo, but after last night, I know we will be back!
Everything was a 10/10 food cookies and hot chocolate

First of all this restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. I had a reservation at another restaurant but they had to move us here and I'm so glad they did. The food was outstanding, and the service was even better. I had a business meeting here with several people and we all absolutely loved it and the food was all phenomenal. I cannot wait to be back

Decided to give this place a try for brunch, but didn't have reservations. Fortunately we were able to get in. Our table was right at the entrance, so the occasional blast of cold air when the door was opened, but not too bad overall. We were informed the food would take 30 min, but it came faster than that. Service was good, except they came to check on the first few bites before I had the chance to try it and I had to ask for a bill when we were clearly finished for some time. I had the burger which was delicious, but be prepared, it's not a light meal and with all that cheese it was quite greasy. Ended up using a knife and fork. Spiced fries were really good. My wife had the hipster toast, which she really liked. A sharper or serrated knife would be a good idea to bring with that meal, however as it was also challenging to eat . Very nice decor, with a view of the harbor from most tables.

The booking of 6 people late in the evening was meant to provide a an authentic experience for visitors to Halifax. Instead they were met with food that was extremely salty, potatoes chips especially were particularly salt as part of starter and as part of mains served separately. It was not fit for consumption. Hard substances in mussels that almost damaged the teeth. Bill came with a mandatory preassigned gratuity that we were told had been included in the bill at God know what percentage. Only discovered when we asked to include gratuity. No pre conversation with us that for a party of 6 the gratuity will be mandatorily included and no conversation about the percentage either. Bill paid nonetheless. I have no reason be it food or service or character to return to this establishment. Good luck to them
The food at drift is incredible. The brown bread tastes just like my great grandmother's. My party was clearly not the usual clientele at drift but Francisco was SO welcoming and kind. I had the fondue burger (omg) and we split an order of the lobster hush puppies. I can't recommend it here enough.
