Some of the better food I have had in Halifax.!I was with someone whi has travelled the whole world and she thought it was outstanding. Top notch service, highly adaptable and friendly but professional. The halibut cheeks are extraordinary. Not all fine food is found in the boardwalk. I would say that i prefer this over some of the higher priced restaurants. Anthony Bourdain would have gushed over thus place I think.
The food was very good and delicately served on the plate, wine list was comprehensive but only a few local items - however noise level was very high, it was almost impossible to hear what my partner was saying. Luckily we sat by the window otherwise it would have been unbearable.
20 min. or more to get drinks and bar was not busy. 2 friend split the duck breast - his half was fine, her half was sinewy and unchewable. I had squid tagliatelli, not much discernible squid in it maybe 5 small pieces. sauce was excellent as was my burrata. Friends were treating us so I could hardly tell them to complain about the duck. All the rest was outstanding. Agno,otti with scallops were superb.
