I moved to NS from Toronto and never expected to be able to find a place like this here. My dad's side of the family are all from Hong Kong. This cafe was like a warm hug. Everything you'd expect... the perfume of sweet milk bread as you enter, pictures of menu items everywhere, and the gentle hum of Cantopop playing across the sound system. This place has all the vibes you'd expect of a HK cafe, no-frills but comfortable, and replete with all the essential classic dishes. It was a welcome surprise for a somewhat homesick soul. We especially enjoyed the bolo bao, turnip cakes, and shrimp wonton soup with stewed beef. Can't wait to visit again.

Wow! I didn't know about this place until my friend told me about it. Being born in Hong Kong I had to get the polo bun and couldn't resist getting the wonton noodle soup.
The price point is perfect and I will definitely come back!

I have eaten in and ordered from Jackie's over the past couple years. I truly believe this is one of the best restaurants in the city. The polo buns with pork and chicken are absolutely, mouth-wateringly amazing. Truly one of the places I crave. Prices are more than reasonable for the food you get. If you haven't tried them, do yourself a favour and go. I don't think I have ever had something I didn't like. Their plum sauce is not too sweet and is just perfect for their meat egg rolls. Jacky's is a gem of Halifax.

WOW! First time I tried Hong Kong food and It was fantastic! I enjoyed everything we ordered and especially the Polo bun which I swallowed in 2 seconds, didn’t even have time to take a photo. Highly recommended!

The pineapple bun could be a little bit sweeter and the meat could be a bit juicer, maybe add some sauce inside? But overall, a good experience and good value

We were visiting Halifax and started to crave Chinese food…this place hit the spot. The lady was super friendly, the food and drinks came out quickly and is authentic. Highly recommend this place if you want something authentic and quick!
