This place is a hidden gem! I only heard of it recently because they were hosting a non alcoholic drink event - The Sober Side to Hyde. I loved the decor and vibes - the mural on the wall was stunning - lighting very flattering. Such nice touches of decor all around to create a good mood. The pretzels were delicious and tasted a bit like popcorn. I felt however they could have had more mocktails though that didn't have ingedients mimicking alcohol. I just don't like the taste.

$25 ($30 with chicken) for an undersized, overcooked plate of nachos. The atmosphere here was nice when they first opened, but two years later and it's very obviously fraying around the edges - wallpaper peeling off the walls, bad lighting, and rickety tables. At least the staff were friendly enough.

Great food, nice restaurant decor. Was the only table so not much of an atmosphere, but food was hot and the cards were a great table addition.

Fun spot with cool atmosphere which draws in the feel from the old church on site. Really cool glassware and setup for beer tasters too...they really bring the Jekyll and Hyde name to the forefront!

I had been for lunch a few times but this was first time for couple dinner. Great atmosphere. Very neighbourhood. Good vibes. Decor is upscale pubby. Music tasteful and just the right volume to allow easy table talk. The food is excellent. After sharing a "small" nachos that was plenty for 2, we both had a different bowl, chicken and beef and both were delicious.

My fiancée and I specifically try and make it to J & H once a month. Their food is consistently great, fair price, and great servers. Highly recommend if wanting to enjoy a smaller meal and a beverage.

Nice location, nice atmosphere but found the booth seats a bit uncomfortable. Service was good and server attentive. Ordered a noodle salad bowl which I thought was good but nothing extraordinary. My friend ordered a Rueben salad and nothing exciting about that either.Vegetarian options: Can get without chicken

The service was efficient and friendly. Our grandson said it was possibly the best burger he has ever had. The food was hot and fresh. When it came time to pay their machine would not work. We tried several times. We waited for the manager. He couldn't make it work either. We had to get our grandson back to the base. They let us leave to bring him back and get cash.I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Had an early lunch here.. the long rice dish I had was excellent. Smaller restaurant, but fairly good vibe to it. Service was good.

I feel they would benefit from only being open in the evenings as the lunch vibe is just not it. However, the young person serving us was delightful, attentive and a pleasure to be around. So I add stars for the excellent service.I was excited to eat here at the old north end church where my parents were married and I went to girl guides as a kid, but the food was mid and doesn’t make me want to return. The booths / pews are also inaccessible for seniors, ppl with mobility issues and larger people. I didn’t see any wheelchair accessible seating inside. The coffee is abysmal, and there’s no espresso machine which should be mandatory at a restaurant like this. The chicken pesto sandwich was quite tasty but small with VERY little chicken - it tasted like a bacon pesto sandwich. It was under grilled and too greasy. The soup was quite nice! Yet price points just don’t match the food offerings. Too much scrimping going on here which usually comes from the top, so I don’t blame kitchen staff. If they were to invest more in improving the menu, seating and have premium coffee offerings in the daytime I’d consider returning for lunch. Otherwise I’d likely only return for a drink at night.

Went there today for a work lunch. Despite being the only group there, it took 40 mins to get drinks, and longer to get our food. I had the Honey Sriracha noodles which tasted great, but we're luke warm at best when they arrived. Portions were a bit small too. Service was friendly but not very attentive, and again, quite slow. Not exactly a tip-worthy experience. We sat on the patio, which looks nice at first, but is very small and has so many tables that you don't have much room to move your chair. Probably won't go back.

Ordered two burgers and a salad while the restaurant was empty. I’ve never had to wait an hour and a half to eat my meal. The waitress took 20 minutes to visit our table and then the food took another 70 minutes to even come out. The food ended up being mediocre and absolutely not worth the wait. I love food, but this food simply isn’t worth your time.
