Great, simple, low-key Cantonese bakery. We missed living in a city with lots of dim sum choices, so we were so happy to come across this place. No, it's not Toronto dim sum, but it is very decent for the Asian food scene in Halifax. The steamed bbq pork buns were our favourite. Will be back!

I'd be fibbing if I said I didn't want this pork and chive buns all to myself. The food is awesome, especially those buns! I was looking for those for 14 years but didn't look hard enough. Such flavour, nice and freshly made...nice price for two! So I got four. Heh!The location is sometimes a challenge to remember, but once I'm there and down those steps that scare me a bit, I'm just happy to see what's what behind the windows! The woman serving is nice, too.I'm glad that I can go there, worth heading to, and I LOVE those buns in the photo!!

2 stars because there was no A/C during this summer time (28 degree C out there!!!). I felt too toasty like in saunas. Cannot enjoy their dishes. Dim sum was so so. Not too bad for $6-7 per steaming basket. But it is not as good as the people rated at 5 stars.

We were tired of fries and fish since we are visiting Nova Scotia so we stopped by Kee Heong. Plus, we were craving for asian food. The dim sum was so delicious! Savory and satisfying to eat! Each plate were different flavour and the staff were friendly! We highly recommand this restaurant! ?

I was taken to this hidden gem for the first time last year by my dear friend who was visiting from Hong Kong and had managed to discover it. Despite walking through those same streets countless more times than her I had not stumbled upon this place. It’s hidden in a small pocket in the corner engulfed by other big fish in the area. When you walk in down the stairs you don’t feel like you’re entering a restaurant, but rather being invited into a close relative’s house back in Asia. The place is small, but spotless and there are coolers to keep you comfortable during the humid summer months in Halifax. The owner is extremely kind and quick to offer you some complimentary tea. But don’t let this small stature and homely feel fool you, because you’ll be mind blown by the impeccable service and quality of food! The system is fairly simple, there’s a small menu of twenty or so items, and you write down in a slip the designated number of the items you’d like to order. There are also desert items on display in limited quantity. The wait times are decent, although I must admit that we were too engrossed in our conversation to keep track of time. The food is fresh, and the meat-to-dough ratio is quite good! They do omit serving any kind of chilli oil or soy sauce with it, which could admittedly be a good addition to look into for the future. Extremely filling — easily the best dumplings in Halifax, both my palate and wallet were satisfied at the end! The rates are very reasonable, and my friend admitted that the prices for some dishes even mirrored the ones back home in Hong Kong. Although you’ll be easily able to try everything on offer and determine your favourite in a few visits, in my opinion the pan-fried pork and the egg tart are must tries on your first visit. The latter does get sold out within the first few hours as it’s both unbelievably delicious and a steal for just $1!Overall, I highly recommend Kee Heong whether you’re looking for a place to take your family visiting from home, a quiet place to have a meal alone, or a quaint spot to take your date away from all the the loud music and crowds from work who’ll recognize you and interrupt your conversation every five minutes.M-goi.

Great service and phenomenal dim sum. Mostly shrimp and pork based (not many vegetarian options) but if your eat shrimp, you will not be disappointed.

Delicious, fresh dishes here. Service was friendly and attentive. Reminded me of dim sum I had growing up in Vancouver.

Was craving for Dimsum so found this highly reviewed on Google Maps. To be honest, all the food was in the middle/average rank but don’t know why ppl gave high “stars” like that. Might be they have ever never tried what real dimsum is(?!).

Very good first experience. Good prices and decent variety. Taste wise, it was a mix between great and average. Definitely worth going back to.

The lady who served me was very sweet. Their Dim Sum and bakes were delicious. Most DimSum places only serve on the weekends, but this restaurant serve on the weekdays too.

Love the egg tarts and peanut cake! The egg tart only costs $1! It is not too sweet but a bit dry. Anyway, still worths a try!
