One of Halifax's true hidden gems. This pizzeria, run by a passionate French pizzaiolo from Marseille, serves some of the best pizza I've ever had. The dough is beautifully fermented, the toppings are original yet perfectly balanced, and every ingredient is top-quality and often locally sourced. I went on a Monday evening and the place was packed—there was even a lineup, which says a lot. You can really feel the chef's dedication—from his collaboration with local farmers to his humble, welcoming presence in the kitchen. It's not just a meal, it's an experience. Highly recommended if you value craftsmanship, flavor, and food made with heart. -Must try agnolotti coffee pasta filled with mangalista porc on a demi glace -truffula pizza what a combination of flavours.🥰🥰 Very good selection of desserts and artisanal icecream.

Disappointing experience. Service was slow, mixed up order (wrong pizza, but did eventually get correct one) and food was bland. Pizza dough was fine, but red sauce had no flavor/seasoning. Toppings of wild mushrooms and caramel onions were sparse. Desserts were okay. Expensive pizzas that were not worth the cost. Will not return, sorry.

Pizza crust is perfect .. and all in all very tasty. As wth any restaurant that suddenly gets rave reviews, the menu and service suffer slightly under pressure.

Quiet, unassuming location, but the food and the service were exceptional. My Aperol spritz was refreshing, as was my husband's margarita ( fresh made, not from a mix). We had the Truffula and the Sauvage pizzas, marveled at the harmonious blend of flavors. The pizza crusts were also exceptional, thin but solid enough to hold the toppings without falling apart, tasty and with good texture. I also had a homemade ice cream affogato, which was divine. The chef is not only a great cook but a fine artist as well. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience, looking forward to a return visit soon. Merci!

Fantastic food. Great service and good value. We met the chef as he greeted everyone at the restaurant. He was awesome. My only complaint was the noise level but to be fair there was a table of six that were very loud. When they left it was much better.

Lou Pécou serves the best pizza in Halifax, hands down! With incredibly friendly and prompt service, beautiful ambiance, and delicious food, we can't wait for our next visit!

The beef pizza was delicious — it exceeded my expectations! The anchovies were a bit too salty. The tiramisu gets a full score. The atmosphere was very comfortable, and the service was excellent!

A lovely experience. Food was great, service excellent. It was busy, but everything was spot on. Will be back.

Fantastic venue, service, and food. Thoroughly enjoyed my pizza as did my partner. The menu items on the tables adjacent to mine also looked equally as delicious. Lots of options for the vegetarian or vegan diner and a well thought-out drink menu with ample selection of local options too. You will not be disappointed!

From the moment we entered the restaurant the positive and upbeat vibe was palpable ! People were savouring their meals - we witnessed "delight" on the faces of the other patrons - and watch staff skillfully and joyfully maneuver around the tables. The chef - Cédric Toullec - was making his rounds and stopping in on tables to make sure people were pleased with their service and their culinary experiences. Without exception, everyone was made to feel welcome and appreciated. Our meal consisted of an appetizer - beef meatballs in tomato sauce; Mains were the Pagnol with wild mushrooms, bocconcini, smoked cheddar, blue cheese, truffle oil; and garlic fingers with roasted garlic and herb butter, mozzarella, asiago, goat cheese, parmigiano reggiano, fresh parsley, dried agastache fennel. Based upon previous experiments with up-your-game extra ingredients we added blue cheese and wild mushrooms to elevate this to a real party of flavours. Desert was the cafe gourmand - a plate of bite sized versions of our crème brûlée, tiramisu, lemon creme and rhubarb cake served with a shot of espresso. We drank Prosecco to complement the meal. The entire culinary experience was exceptional. - and the owner and staff made certain of that, including a warm send-off and "we look forward to welcoming you back" words. It's no wonder that this chef, this team, this owner, this restaurant was recently recognized as one of the top 100 pizza restaurants in the world. We look forward to our next meal together -- it's like dining with family.

Last night we had pizza and as usual it was outstanding. I had the pasta special for a change and it was amazing. They had made a special stinging nettle pesto that was so delicious and very unique. They are always taking their food to the next level and we are never disappointed.

A lovely restaurant. Great pizza and salads. But not a pizzeria vibe: more upscale. It was a shame that there was only 1 other table beside us: I hope they can make it. I would recommend it

Delicious as always! Service and food is always amazing. Noise levels were high, but the food made up for it.

Another amazing meal with new options on the menu. Our server, Olivia, makes each visit special and remembers our preferences with kindness and efficiency. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We both enjoyed our pizzas very much. My daughter had the “Autentica” from the vegetarian section, and I ordered the Lou Fada with various meats on it. Of course we shared and loved them both. We also had the Cafe Gourmand, which has miniature versions of the four desserts on the menu with an espresso. Delicious. We found the service a bit slow, but our server was very pleasant. Highly recommended.
