Bouncers are on a huge power trip. Gave them a government issued ID and was denied entrance to a show I paid for. I’m 36 And was a designated driver for a bunch of people. Absolutely ridiculous. Will never give this place my money again. Wish I could give them 0 stars.

Had a terrible experience with the Manager of this place. They let one of my friend without id but didn’t let me in. I paid $45 for an event pass. But didn’t let in. Even though they let other people in without ID. So gross. Discrimination on its top level.

Fantastic venue with amazing events, but unfortunately, the bouncers leave much to be desired. Their behavior often comes across as an abuse of power. Sadly will not be coming back after this experience.

I would rate 0 if possible, wasted 150$ on tickets and a drive from Saint John just to be denied entrance because we didn't have 2 pieces of ID, which we watched multiple people get in with just 1. Would never recommend to anyone unless you just want to waste your time and money, service was no help and extremely impolite and inconsiderate. We were all of age and had proof and still were denied, horrible place

Me and my girlfriend travelled from Charlottetown PEI for JPEGMAFIA and got turned away at the door for not looking exactly like our IDs. We both had valid photo IDs and where asked for an additional piece of ID. Nowhere online did I see this as a requirement. Nobody expects to need two pieces of ID this is not an airport. We saw multiple people turned away at the door for similar reasons, and saw many people let in with only one piece of ID and no hassle. Friends of mine had the same experience, and other issues with the bouncers once they got inside the venue. We bought our tickets online for 40$ each from ticket web, and there where no refunds. The website has no contact besides the booking email which was of no help, and vaguely lists the capacity at 750+ which I don't think is how capacities work but I am not a lawyer.
Do not go here. Just don't. Do not buy tickets for shows here it's basically a lottery on if you get in. I don't care how fun the show will be (the show we didn't get into would have been amazing, and I hope JPEGMAFIA comes back and plays anywhere else).

Great Bar and Venue but Security was horrible. They denied my friend entry because he did not show two pieces of ID, It was not specified anywhere that two pieces are needed. Safe to say we were unhappy as we paid a ton to experience the show and drive to Halifax from Charlottetown. Aside from the security denying my of age friend the show was okay. Piece of advice for anyone going. BRING AS MUCH IDENTIFICATION AS YOU CAN.

Cool venue, they've got a fish tank by the bathrooms, that was a nice touch. Made me feel like I was peeing under the sea.

Great venue and great bar service but awful security. The security guards were rude, aggressive and just out of line. I asked to talk to a manager/supervisor and was given a phone number that went to voicemail and I doubt I will ever get a call back. I went on the website, Facebook and Instagram where I still could not find a contact page to speak to someone. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Poor attitude and poor customer service.
The most unprofessional and disgustingly staffed venue in Halifax. If you’re looking for a safe space, this is not it.

The Marquee is always a great venue for live music and performers! They seem to have a very supportive community of local staff & artists and they do an outstanding job of curating complimentary acts with every show they offer. The added bonus of often having an additional, separate show downstairs at the seahorse ensures your entire party will have a genre they absolutely love as both venues offer an incredible variety of music. The drinks are affordable and the staff are always kind and efficient. The Marquee is a cash-only bar, but an ATM is available on site.

Not sure who’s idea it was to have those poor fish in a loud bar but it’s animal cruelty. Go lay in a bathtub and submerge your head, if something hits the bathtub the noise is much louder and it’s the same for fish tanks. Those poor fish are probably frightened in there :(

Came here to see Chris Webby, and had an amazing time. The crowd had great energy, the bartenders were awesome, and the environment was great.
The bouncers had some major small $#@% energy going on. The biggest complaint I have: it was at least 30 degrees in there. The show was amazing but god Marquee, is a working A/C / HVAC system too expensive for you? Everyone was complaining, including all the performers. I'm surprised no one passed out.
Comment on this review when you fix this because I'm never coming here and will never recommend anyone to come here until it is.
