Everything about our dinner date was outstanding. Server was attentive and offered us great drink and food suggestions. The best brussel sprouts we've ever eaten and we had the Brisk Boil as our entree. Every bite was mouthwatering. Open concept environment with wonderful smells coming from the kitchen and wood burning ovens.

Ambiance was ruined by too loud music everywhere - even in the bathrooms. We went thinking we were going to a restaurant but we went to a pub. Very disappointing. Food and service were fine. Em

The prices were a little extreme for the types of dishes that were being served for brunch. I paid 24$+ tax for a breakfast sandwich with tater tots... One of my friends drink tasted like it had no alcohol in it. Then the next one tasted like it was straight alcohol with a splash of ginger ale. Lastly the service was great and the atmosphere is very nice!

This place has become a go-to for me for business lunches and social evenings. Went for Sunday night bingo (awesome time!) and right back the next day for lunch. Good service, tasty food, great space!

I've eaten at this establishment in the past but this was my first time having their brunch menu which is definitely underwhelming. Almost all dishes are primarily tater tots (if they are made in house they still taste exactly the same as frozen ones). The quality of food was just not what I would have expected for such a cool, downtown location. No issues with staff, they did not go above and beyond but no complaints either. Ambiance is always nice.

I've been here three times and the first time was the best, it's gone downhill from there. This most recent visit was very disappointing. I paid $17 for a tiny pot of hard cooked eggs in what was supposed to be a shakshuka with some bitter tasting greens. It was rather one-note, and the eggs were so overdone it just wasn't at all enjoyable. I couldn't even eat half of it and I'm a huge foodie and will eat most anything. The grilled bread was a tiny portion. The dutch baby I shared before my main was good, though very cloyingly sweet and I'd never be able to eat it alone. Coffee was refilled frequently and was very good, though, near the end of our stay, we felt a bit pushed to leave as the server kept coming over to check if we were done and ask about bills/drop receipt/came back to collect payment all very close together, even though we were finishing coffee and had journals out and were clearly in the midst of a personal discussion. That wasn't a huge deal, but not even being able to enjoy my meal made it more disappointing. There are some outstanding dishes on the menu, but they need to do better with quality control and cleaning up some menu items that just aren't that great.

We went for the Dine Around 3 course lunch in February. The atmosphere had a comfortable vibe, spacious and inviting. The fireplace and views of the harbour front added to the ambience. Our table overlooked the new public art piece called Tidal Beacon which shimmered in the light. All of the courses were delicious! The squash and carrot soup was creamy with a hint of spicy heat. The jerk grilled salmon salad was colourful and flavourful. (My dining friend had the winter pie and roasted Brussel sprouts which were equally delicious) The take on a S'mores dessert with chocolate mousse, graham cracker and a torched marshmallow topping was a perfect end to the meal. I hope they will consider adding these items to their regular menu. The jerk salmon salad was beautifully presented-would love to have it again. Will definitely return to Salt + Ash!

We went for a dinner on Sunday night when they have bingo. At same time there was Dine Around Halifax menu, where on default they easily accomodatted my partners allergy to gluten, dairy and eggs. He got delicious Brussles sprouts, salmon and sorbet for desert. We had an amazing date night. Will go again, for sure!

The atmosphere and serving staff are phenomenal. What I ordered was good. Food portions are large. Price was good. What I ordered what the Diner Around promotion. I thought the salmon would be raw but it was cooked so the sushi style bowl with cooked salmon was odd for me. But others may enjoy it!

Mostly a very good experience. Quite noisy when we first arrived 1:00 pm on a Friday, but not long before some tables left and the noise level diminished. We had the set menu for ‘Dine Around' - all the food was excellent except for the Jerk Salmon salad. The salmon was dry and overcooked with too much dressing and not much quinoa. However, they didn't charge that person for the glass of wine they had ordered.

I've been here a few times now but this last experience wasn't great. We had a reservation for noon for four people. We were seated and then never saw another employee for 30 minutes. When another table was seated next to us we then asked that server if someone could take our order. The server took our order and our food came shortly after. However, we never saw that server again. We had to ask another employee if we could get our bills since were were on a time limit. The food and atmosphere were good, however we were very disappointed in the lack of service. I would not want to go back for lunch during the work week.

Got burned Scallops starter. I thought it maybe just one mistake. But the Strip loin sides were also fully black and burned. Example potatoes were fully black, turnips were burned too. We ordered Medium done Strip loin and got few raw pieces and end were burned. It was too noisy inside, as the music was too lound. Nobody can hear you well and you need to scream. The only thing that was tasty and good was the fries we ordered as sides.

My first time to Salt + Ash but definitely not my last! Food was incredible, our server was lovely and it is a beautiful restaurant. The noise level was so high that we could hardly hear each other though. It's a very (beautiful) open space but lacks any noise-dampening decor. That will not deter me from returning though!!

Best cornbread I've ever had! Two apps, a pizza, and 2 drinks for $65! Can't be beat! Cozy vibe with a great esthetic. Definitely my favorite of the queens marque restaurants ?

Casual but elegant, nice scenic view of the harbour. Our server was never far away and was very congenial and helpful as we made our food and beverage choices. We were impressed with how quickly the food arrived after ordering and it was still hot. The food was a real adventure; we were impressed with how some comfort food staples (I had the boiled brisket and sorbet) were elevated to something special. We're going back to try the rest of the menu.
