Came in the middle of day, was told to get everything served in 15 mins due to large group of people. Been sitting for over 35 mins and still didn't get our complete order. And we just ordered coffee and salad, the rest of the order were things from the shelf... Had no more time to wait, needed to check out at the hotel. Long story short, we were told to wait some more time after 35 mins... Worst part, you have to pay for everything including tips before getting food or service. So at the end I got a refund of my dish, but they kept the tips... Basically free tips for no effort. I wouldnt leave any tips for such service... I rarely write bad reviews ,but this is not of of them times. Was not offered any remorse or compensation. Don't like when people set wrong expectations. If I was told it would take 35-40 mins, we would prob leave. But just hate when people lie... So will not be coming back. Food itself was Ok, nothing special.

I absolutely loved this cafe. Everything about here from the staffs, food, drink and ambience were truly wonderful. I ordered cappuccino and tandoori chicken sandwich which tasted so good. I will definitely be here back again!

Paid $5 for a very small size bagel. Literally no cream cheese on it and only spread on one half. As the server was bringing it out to me I could see the person in the kitchen licking his fingers. Hopefully that’s not what he spread the cream cheese with. Also paid $3.50 for some of the weakest coffee I’ve ever had. WOULD NEVER GO BACK!

Just stopped by for a gluten free treat. They had a GF almond cranberry muffin and a GF brownie. Both looked good. Not a big selection, but I was thankful to find something GF. I tried the muffin and liked it.

This morning, I treated myself to a delicious breakfast at Simply Put. I tried the ricotta cheese on homemade sourdough toast with local honey, lime zest and chili flakes (so good). I also picked up a few of their pastries to go; the mushroom & beef hand pie, a lemon tart and a strawberry crumble tart. All were delicious. If you are in Halifax and are looking for a great spot for breakfast, lunch and/or a pastry & coffee, be sure to check them out at 1474 Lower Water St, Halifax. They have a lovely interior atmosphere, as well.
