The very best around. We love Shige and Aya.
Overrated place as the quality of seafood, taking too many to-go orders slow down the dine-in service. It’s also pricey compared with other authentic Japanese restaurants operating by Japanese.

It's all about quality at Sushi Shige. Absolutely the best sushi in Halifax. The restaurant itself is small but has a certain "hole in the wall" charm.

I had the pleasure of going to this cozy place! I had an incredible birthday omakase dinner at Sushi Shige! First time omakase dinner ever and I was very excited! The meal was so fresh and delightful I left pleasantly full and not overstuffed! The chefs skill and presentation were on point! I'll be back for sure!! The melt in your mouth unagi was my favourite and cod and asparagus was a close second for me!! Compliments to the chef and his staff!! He was so sweet saying goodbye to us and we will never forget this meal!! Thank you so much for making my first omakase memorable 10/10!!

The best sushi restaurant in Halifax, and in my opinion, the best in all the Maritime Provinces! This is an authentic Japanese restaurant serving authentic Japanese food. The most special order on the menu is the omakase, which is a chef’s choice multi-course meal. Omakase requires a reservation at least a couple days in advance so that the restaurant can prepare all the special ingredients be served in the omakase meal. This place is a gem. If you like authentic Japanese food, this is the spot.

Absolutely the best sushi in Halifax. Amazing fish, the nigiri is the star.
I highly recommend going omakase and getting whatever the chef wants to make, you will be in great hands.
Service is also wonderful, I love dining in here. Looking forward to my next visit!

A "typical" family run Japanese restaurant. If you are familiar with Japanese restaurants you will feel right at home here. To my knowledge Shige is the only authentic Japanese restaurant in Halifax.

Fabulous, fresh, and delicious - hands-down the best sushi in Halifax, and among the best I've had across Canada. A tiny restaurant, it is best for take-out (or delivery), but oh so good, right down to fresh, home-made chopped wasabi. Forget the 'AYCE' sushi joints - this is the real deal.
Best dragon toll, sushi snd sashimi in Halifax!!! Will be back soon!!
