Nice local bar serving Alexander Keith's Ale - the iconic Halifax beer. The bathrooms are fun too - who doesn't love a picture of a mermaid pug in a clamshell bra?!

We were in Halifax for a day after a cruise, and wanted to make the most of our evening. After noticing the pub on the street, and reading good reviews on Trip Advisor we met up with another couple from our cruise for happy hour and an early departure dinner. We all really enjoyed the drinks, the food and the friendly staff. While this place only opened in 2018, it has the vibe and feel of having been around a long time (in a good way). I had the mussels and it made for a light and good meal. My husband shared some of his fish and chips with me and we both think they were possibly the best we have ever had.

Wonderful welcoming pub. We’d been travelling all day and stumbled upon this place for some food and a drink. Comfortable and snug inside with really friendly staff and a good menu. We popped in the following evening for a drink, and even the night after that for another meal! Super place, very much recommend for a cosy pub experience

Dined here with a party of four. Two were locals who recommended this place. Both non-locals (I was one) ordered the chicken Korma which was very tasty. Plenty of juicy chicken and the sauce has just the right amount of spice. Beers were good (Keith’s Blonde). Service was friendly and efficient. Atmosphere is ‘old world pub’ with lots of stone and wood. Very homey.

Went with a friend we both had the fish and chips . Excellent fish nice flake and good batter and the chips were quite tasty . Would recommend if you are downtown Halifax looking for Fish and Chips

A bit disappointing. The spinach salad was drowned in dressing so strong I had to throw the whole thing out (and that was after I tried to drain the dressing off in the sink). The fish was ok but two thirds of it was batter - one whole side of the fish was batter with no fish. However, the chips were really good. The French onion soup was very good and the staff were lovely. Weirdly, for a Thursday night at 5pm - there was no dessert available - which should have been a bit of a warning that the kitchen side needs more work. I'm from the UK and my husband is not - but loves British food - so it was dual citizenship disappointment;)

Stellar service from the kitchen, as always. The two waitresses at the bar treated me as if I were invisible while they chatted up their friends at the bar. No biggie. There are loads of other restaurants to choose from. Sometimes you encounter snobs. That's just life. I just hate to think that it's at a place that usually has great service. And, while I'm sitting at the bar, she says to the other patron sitting right next to me: "I'm glad you came in. You're my only customer". If I could give a zero I would. Stay away from this pretentious hole in the wall. Jan 19 at 9pm-10pm.

This is a great stop if you're on a cruise ship for a day. The place is very friendly, and the service is remarkable. We stopped in and had a burger, fries and one of their IPA. The burger was juicy, and the fries are out of this world. Wished this place was closer to Ohio where I would be their every other week. My advice is getting your ass to this wonderful place now.

Our Grape Escape guide Coleen recommended this, especially for their Guiness Stout. The Guiness was the best we've had since the U.K. Their Steak and Guiness pie was outstanding, as were the french fries. My wife's black bean burger was great. My sister enjoyed the hot spinach and artichoke dip. Definitely worth many visits. Thanks, Coleen!

Oh my word what would I give to have a pub like this as my local in Cary North Carolina. The ambiance the authentic rugby gear on the wall the hand signed rugby jersey by all time Canada great Al Charron my god what a spot. I had the poutine with spicy Guinness gravy and a banger which was excellent. My wife had the French onion soup that was not that good. In fact she said is was very, very average so to me that means substantial room for improvement. Like she said don't order French onion soup in a pub. Its like you don't order fish at a steak joint. I wish I could package this place and take it home...

The most delicious fries & mostly delicious lobster roll you will ever have. Would have preferred more lobster and less filler in the lobster roll. Staff are fantastic!

We stopped in for a quick drink after our meeting ended early and we weren't disappointed. Small 4-table patio out back, good & friendly service, great looking menu and a great selection of local beers. And it's dog-friendly!

Stopped in with hubby and the doggies for lunch. Was thrilled we could have the dogs with us at the table on the patio and that there were water bowls provided. Service was a little slow and unfortunately our order got lost and it took a while to get our food. Kitchen tried to rush the meal to make up for the delay and our spinach dip was still cold in the middle. Overall the food was good and I would return to try the food again.
