Really mixed experience. Waitress was excellent cocktails were delicious, and my wife's halibut was cooked to perfection. My $70 steak, however, was very gristly and tough. Actually one of the worst pieces of meat I've had in a long time. Won't be returning.

Fabulous
Lobster prepared for easy access
Delicious oysters
Kind and welcoming staff
Great atmosphere, an old stone building that has many nooks and crannies.
Their oysters are incredible and they have a whole range of types from different locales. Our group ordered multiple additional rounds. We were there during a prime Saturday dinner slot, but check their website to find out when they have happy hour oysters.
Overall excellent food, highly recommend going and I am thrilled this was suggested to us.
What a gem❤the oysters we had were outstanding!!! Our bartender was so nice and had an amazing amount of history about the place. A must stop!!!
The food was flavourful and cooked to perfection!
It was a neat place to do for dinner in Halifax. The meal was amazing. The dessert could’ve been better. But just my opinion.

If you like oysters, a must try and they offer the most amazing duck! Chef Brian is an amazing and the restaurant is certainly a Halifax staple.

Excellent seafood in Halifax. Set in the basement of one of the oldest buildings in Halifax dating from 1759, this restaurant has all the atmosphere of a colonial establishment including candles on the table. The food and service were both excellent. Nice selection of appetizers, entrees, drinks and desserts. Overall a wonderful dinner experience.
A rich character atmosphere with friendly service and a fine culinary staff.
The lobster was priced similarly to other options around town and prepared perfectly. Accompanying vegetables were given the same care and attention.
Had a delicious supper wonderful wines and outstanding oysters. The service was excellent. 10/10, would eat again!
