Super sweet place. Smells like fresh coffee, super cozy, and the staff was just the right amount of chatty to feel welcoming!
The fellow working was lovely, the vibe in the store was perfect, every single table we walked past had folks chatting about actual books (imagine!), which felt really cozy. Coffee was tasty and prices were right. Next time I’ll be back to try an everything cookie.
A great find in our short time in Halifax. Found a great book to take home with me
one of my favourites in halifax, great coffee, yummy pastries, amazing book selection, open late and a great place to study or enjoy a good book! cannot recommend enough
Very good place to stop and have a coffee. The iced chai latte and Americano we had were excellent and so inexpensive! The atmosphere and decor are unique. Pretty old tables are placed on either side of the book shelves. The girl who served us was very friendly and gave us good advice on the attractions of Halifax. Place to absolutely visit!
Cozy, with a GREAT tasting custom blend. Highly recommend
Immaculate vibes with a lovely interior. A peaceful place to enjoy a good read or work. Solid coffee and service. Very charming. Definitely recommend for the sit down experience.
Trident always has an interesting and varied selection of books, including ones difficult to find elsewhere due to being out of print. The food and drinks are good; I particularly enjoy the hot chocolate, and they have a decent selection of teas. It's my favorite place in the city to study/work in thanks to its ambiance, particularly if I can get one of the tables tucked into the bookshelves away from the main seating area. It is both popular and fairly low on seating, and so you can't always rely on being able to get a table, but I find that it's other attributes more than make up for that.
Great atmosphere and a great spot for espresso at night!
Cozy place with affordable price coffee

Very nice selection of used books. Apparently the coffee is good, too! Friendly service.
Lovely cozy spot, conveniently located, and very community oriented. Walked in and immediately found a cherished used book from my childhood. Mostly used books, but some new as well. Drip coffee was nice and strong, cinnamon bun soft and sweet. Also had the opportunity to speak to the owner who was super friendly.
Sweet little book store with strong coffee and tasty treats. Lots of seating to enjoy your snacks, a book, or buy one of their beautiful cards and address it to someone.
Fantastic little book store and coffee shop. The barista knows how to make a strong and tasty cup of cappuccino. I do recommend the double shot. The teas are great too, very flavourful and smooth. Alternatives milks are available.
Good coffe and great book selections!
