We just finished one of the best meals on our east coast trip so far. The tacos, fish and chips, scallops, calamari and burgers really hit the spot and every staff member we interacted with was top notch. I look forward to returning on our next trip.

The Mahone Bay tourist office recommended this restaurant for its gluten free choices. I'm so grateful we stopped for a late lunch. The food was amazing and to find a *dedicated Gluten Free fryer* was one of the highlights of my vacation!
The selections were excellent and everything we tried was delicious.
Highly recommend!

Food was great, I ordered the captain’s seafood chowder. Our server was wonderful and extremely attentive. Communication through some members of the staff seemed slightly disjointed but that’s so be expected during a dinner rush. Atmosphere created by other patrons caused for uncomfortable moments for members of our party, not an indictment of the restaurant itself though. 4

Tacos were crazy good, and probably the best mussels ever!

New top 5 for us!

My wife and I experienced the most insulting service ever at a restaurant.

Tonight we ordered a bowl of clam chowder and fish tacos to share.while waiting for our chowder the server did not check on us or refill water. The chowder took a long time and when it came up our server was otherwise occupied. Another server brought it to us placing it in the middle of the large table. Due to table size and low chairs it would be impossible to share. She left without a word . I requested two bowls from the original server however she curtly told us she was busy with another nearby party. After another 5 minutes when she finished at other table she left got us two bowls and dropped them on our table without a word and left. At that point we noticed the bowls she dropped off were dirty. No servers around we got up and left handing one of the servers at the door the dirty bowls.

We couldn’t leave that place quick enough.

We met up for a late lunch here on a weekday afternoon. I was skeptical since so many area restaurants are heavily tourist-oriented and seem to have high prices, mediocre (or worse) food, and occasionally poor service. However, we were both very pleasantly surprised from the moment we walked in. We were greeted warmly and promptly despite the somewhat unusual hour, and immediately seated. Our server was cheerful and patient with us as we looked over the menu, and was quick to answer our questions. Our food came out surprisingly fast but was still perfectly prepared. One of us had the large Caesar salad (easily the size of two typical salads) and the other had the fish tacos w/ fries. The salad was the second best I’ve had in Nova Scotia (the best was homemade!) and I’ve had quite a few. The fries were perfectly crisp and still moist inside. The tacos were 7/10, which is better than most I’ve had around here.

As we ate, we listened to the staff banter a bit and it was clear everyone was nice and took pride in their jobs. It was reflected in every facet of our experience and we will be back soon!

We first noticed this place back in February and decided that one day we had to visit it.

And finally, during our 3-day hiking trip, we made it happen. Walking from Chester to Mahone Bay, I don’t think I’ve ever walked that fast with a 9 kg backpack on my shoulders 😄 It was a 25 km day, and we finally made it there.

After that hike, everything tasted absolutely incredible. We were very happy with the service, the food, and the atmosphere.

They also have a beautiful patio, but after spending the whole day under the sun, we happily chose seats inside instead.

It was exactly the kind of place we hoped to reach at the end of a long hiking day.

Been here twice this week whilst away on holiday in the area. The food is just fantastic, the chowder is the best I’ve ever had and the pad Thai was excellent! Fantastic oysters and wine too. Joel, our server was such a lovely bloke. Thank you!!
