I was visiting Cape Breton Island from Europe. I stopped by the Cafe after a night camping with friends in mid September. It was my first time in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia and Canada. I absolutely loved the atmosphere of the place. I ordered the ricotta pancakes, and I can say that they were probably the best pancakes I've ever had. Staff were very friendly. Such a memorable stop in such a memorable trip, I hope I can go back one day.

Love supporting local and the clucking hen is as local as it gets in Cape Breton. We had the lobster roll which was overflowing with lobster ($22) and the 2 piece fish & chips was great with perfectly done fries ($18). Also, don’t forget the fresh homemade bakery items - we had the butter tart and blondie.

Another highlight: Very nice and friendly service plus a lobster roll straight from heaven. If you like raisins - try the raisin tart! The view out of the Cafe should also not go unmentioned. Anytime again. Tip for the insider: The menu changes from "breakfast" to lunch at 11 o'clock.

Sat and waited, 2 other groups came in after us, and they were waited on before us. Do not recommend going there if you are a minority!
