I had a burger and my gf had the fish and chips. If looks could kill, this meal was lethal. Yet the only thing that died was our insides. I know these are both greasy choices, but lt does not validate serving them in their own lakes of grease. Yes, a reduced staff means some things get overlooked, but we we’re the only people in the restaurant and food should be the priority. It also took 10 minutes to get a beer because the sweet old lady serving us wasn’t strong enough to change the keg and had to call someone for reinforcements.
Ordered potato skins and a Wharf Burger. Not happy with either. No ketchup no mustard asked for extra and only given 4 packs for 2 people. The burger patty was broken up and falling apart. The potato skins were uncooked and greasy the cheese was not on the potatoes and the bacon was also on the side. There were black burnt pieces of I don't know what. The service was great people were great but food was lacking. Won't be going back. I don't complain about food generally unless it was bad.
Stopped in for lunch, hopeful that perhaps some improvements had been made since our last visit. There are signs upon entry indicating that they are understaffed, due to the pandemic, which is understandable, but to the point that it is printed on the menu, it seems like possibly an ongoing issue, that has nothing to do with the pandemic. When we were seated, there were a few other tables that were wrapping up, not really busy at all but the staff were behaving like it was packed and seemed frazzled. We ordered the fish and chips, battered, and the staff told us that we do not want the battered, we need to get the breaded, so we did. We asked about beer on tap, and she flatly answered "Keiths", without mentioning that there are other bottles available. We discovered that bottles were available, ordered beer, propeller I believe, and settled in for the live entertainment. The staff argued loudly at the bar for our entire visit about an issue with payout on a vlt machine, bickering back and forth about who took the money, how sketchy some of the previous guests were, etc. Totally unprofessional but very entertaining. No one followed up to ask how anything was, so missed alcohol sales there...the fish and chips were fine, but the whole experience was bizzare, and i cannot imagine coming back, unless the food improves, the patio gets cleaned up a bit, and maybe some music to drown out the bickering wait staff? Disappointing, as this place has so much potential and a great location, but really falls flat.
Fresh battered haddock - I ordered 2 pieces and it was a struggle to finish the second I was so full. It was fresh haddock- not dry at all. I couldn't eat all my fries and after it arrived I immediately regretted not having poutine fries like someone else at my table. I could have had 1 piece fish and poutine- next time. We enjoyed craft beer and our meal on the seaside outdoor patio. The harbor was full of sailboats. Beautiful location. Great find in a small seaside town. Give the staff a break- most places are short-staffed these days and the restaurant industry has been hammered by Covid. No crowds, you are sitting by the ocean enjoying a meal with friends- relax and enjoy
Great service, great atmosphere and great food. Both waitresses were lovely and a good laugh. Some of the lower star reviews are due to staff shortages which so many businesses are suffering from due to the pandemic, but they were honest about this from the get go and we didn't notice any problems or a longer wait than anywhere else. The haddock was SO FRESH!!!! Best fish I’ve had anywhere!!! Great service, lovely atmosphere but the FRESH Fish was the star !!We will be back!!! ♥️The Sea Dog!!Thank you for the delicious lunch!!
They are short staffed. Which is completely understandable. However, we sat for over an hour waiting for a clubhouse + salad, and fried scallops + salad. And our drinks sat empty for over 30 minutes. The ONLY reason we were upset about the >1h wait was because we watched three tables that were seated AFTER us get their dinner before us. I can only assume the waitress forgot our order. We left without eating and went to Sobeys for groceries instead as all other restaurants were closed by this time. It might have been a nice gesture had they even offered a discount for our drinks. Anything. On a positive note, the view is nice.
Gorgeous view, but disappointed in the value. 2 clams and chips and to cokes to go for $65! A bit pricey. The batter on the clams not fully cooked. Have gone to this restaurant before, this was my 1st experience since covid. Sadly disappointed.
Awesome scallops and clams. Homemade tartar sauce and big servings.
Seafood chowder was missing the cream. It was more of a seafood soup. Not good at all. A very tiny piece of fish came with the fish and chips. Lobster fettuccine good. Chicken Caesar wrap good. Under staffed and it showed. A very disappointing dinner.

Good onion rings, too hot though needs a more adaptable ac system.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service. Waitress was friendly and fun to talk to. Large portions of food too - great food. No complaints from this guy and his family.
Seafood chowder was amazing - order it! As was the fish and chips. Everything was so fresh and so good. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Made some suggestions of places to go and see. Definitely worth stopping by for a meal. Go hungry, portions are big and will fill you up. Thanks for a great meal.
We had high hopes for dinner here but unfortunately the atmosphere was not great. The picnic tables had old food gunk on them. The waitress was nice enough but leaned over our table to yell down to some girls on the floating dock and did not check on us or bring the bill. There were four of us there and two of us got out meal while the other two had to wait 10 minutes for theirs and when it arrived it wasn't even hot, the waitress said they forgot to cook the other meals so that was why. I think she got caught up chatting to someone but who knows. Our food was okay at best. It's a beautiful spot and I hope they can turn it around.
The outdoor table was absolutely filthy. I should have got up and walked out the second I noticed. Gummy old dried lumps of food stuck to the top. The wait staff was disorganized and unprofessional. Food was below average for pub fare. Okay buddy listen up the restaurant was not busy in fact we were the only people ordering food. The only other patrons were 2 guys who were already eating and 2 girls who were drinking their faces off and completely drunk. Not to mention that food was not from the prior customers. It had been stuck there cooking in the sun for hours maybe even days.
