When I met my wife 25 years ago her mom made me tacos like I'd never experienced before. She is Mexican and fried the shells in a way that was crunchy and soft at the same time and didn't put any nonsense taco flavoring in the meat- she just let the carne speak for itself. The menu was diverse between American classics and Mexican classics. I had the biscuits and gravy breakfast and my husband had a wet burrito. Both were served quickly with nice portions. A homemade coconut pie was supposed to be dessert, but we had no room after cleaning off our plates. This being said, the server who waited on us was the highlight. When there's only 1 option for a home cooked meal within 100 miles, we were very glad to have stumbled across the Alamo Diner, and the excellent food and service that was provided to us!
