Yes, it was very quiet when we were there earlier this week, but we stayed for one short ice cream evening and one very long night of free-range conversation, and were very glad we did. Where else can you give a Black and Tan Coonhound an ear rub as you swill your beer? I myself don't know what makes a dive bar -- our conversations were pretty literate, so far as I can remember.

Had a fun time, but this is not really a bar... It's more like someone's private club.. Someone who is crazy... We still had a fun time though. p.s. pack heavy. i suggest .45 ACPs.

A nice little bar with a friendly bartender. The bloodhound whose name is Bacchaus and watches over the place, is friendly and adorable. Plus, there's a cool tinman you can take pictures sitting outside.

We had such a great night after our day in Death Valley. I can recommend this place to anyone who really wants to experience the real life in Nevada... The owner and his friends are very friendly! I can't say anything about food, but the beer was good :)

I walked into the Beatty Club after having had a few beers and Whiskeys over at the Sourdough Saloon next door. I was not in the mood for Pizza and recalled seeing a sign at the Beatty saying Hot and Cold Sandwiches! I staggered over with my traveling buddies and upon opening the door was hit with the familiar scent from grammar school of Vomit and sawdust. I already had one foot in the door and figured I may as well see the rest of the place. The VERY drunk guy at the bar shouted something about someone being right back. I thanked the rummy for the info and finished looking around. A computer for Internet access in the corner. And center room was a nice looking karaoke set up. Other than the town drunk, that was it. Everyone was crowding up the Sourdough. Seriously, 1 person at the Beatty to 30+ at the Sourdough. According to a local, they had cleaned up the place. I shudder to think what it was like before.
