Perfect stop for breakfast on the road from Vegas to Reno! We had a wonderful breakfast at Gemas Cafe after finding it on our long route through Nevada. The omelets were perfectly fluffy and full of delicious ingredients. We also got toast and sides of fruit which were very filling! A great value for breakfast! Happy to stop here again on our next journey, definitely worth looking for if you are driving through!

We stayed in Beatty for a night and there were few options for breakfast. I saw Gema's had good reviews so we tried it. It's a cute little cafe with excellent service. The food was cooked fresh and very good. I would definitely recommend it.

One of the best vanilla lattes I’ve had. My friend got a shaved ice and loved it, too. This little place is definitely worth a stop. Inexpensive and friendly service.

Gema's was the highlight of our stay in Beatty. Our dinner was authentic Mexican home cooked food prepared from scratch by the waiter/owner's abuelita (grandmother). The next best part was the conversation with the waiter/owner (Manuel) and an old-timer. They told us all about the town - the good, the bad, and the ugly. Manuel told us all about the different kinds of people who come to the restaurant and their preferences. He cheerfully agreed to make me an egg white omelette the next morning since another place in town said they couldn't. We ate there the next morning. Not only did I get my egg white omelette, but Manuel made me the best "dry" Capuccino that I have ever had. And he knew what a "dry" Capuccino was. When we talked about the extensive variety of coffees listed on a board, rivaling any big city cafe, he said that he was hoping to open his own cafe down the street while his grandmother would continue cooking at Gema's. Good luck Manuel.

My 93 year old mother and I had dinner at Gema's when we were spending the night in Beatty. What a pleasant surprise! The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. My mother is very picky with food, and she just loved the chicken enchiladas she ate here. I had the Texas skillet which was very tasty, and had a nice little kick to it from the Ranchero sauce. I will definitely eat here again the next time I'm in Beatty. Highly recommend Gema's!

Stopped here for breakfast 2 different mornings. It was pretty good and the pricing was reasonable and the coffee is good. They were open at 7 am. Keep in mind this is a very small town and a small establishment, so you need to have realistic expectations.

This is small place. About six tables, Limited menu for lunch. Just hot and cold sandwiches. No burgers, No fries. No fryer. Little charm.

We stopped for lunch here after seeing that it was a highly rated option in town. I understand this is a small family business and I’m sure it’s a struggle, but this place was visibly dirty and the food was not very good. Do they have health inspectors in Beatty? There was a dead cockroach under our table, which I’ll take over the other commenter who said she found cockroaches IN HER DRINK. There were 3 small parties in the dining room and food was slow to arrive. You could hear the microwave beeping in the kitchen as food was “cooked”. We ordered cheese enchiladas and nachos. The enchilada sauce tasted like the tomato sauce from Spaghettios. It was strange. Rice was decent! The nachos were bland and had that fake nacho cheese. Based on the yelling in Spanish from the kitchen I was excited to have some authentic Mexican food. That did not happen but we were starved and ate everything. If I’m ever in Beatty again, I’ll not be stopping here.
