I ordered a burger that came without mayo or mustard and when I asked for mustard it was an additional .50 my husband asked for blue cheese instead of ranch it was also an additional .50 we ordered a child sized apple juice which was over $5 but the worst part was the service. Our waitress was the worst. She never asked if we needed anything so many things. I took one bite of my burger and it was so nasty. The other guests were nicer...read full review
Wifes pizza was cold and undercooked. My Cajun macaroni and cheese was bland and boring, reminds me of food served in Navy boot camp.
The decor is country western woodwork and lighting with a heavy sprinkling of "Day of the Dead" artwork.
$91 bucks for the food mentioned above, some chips & salsa and two lagers beers.
Definitely won't be back.
YMMV

Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint is a must-visit restaurant in the Carson City/Reno area. This hidden gem offers something for everyone and is worth every penny. The menu features delicious dishes, including the roasted beet salad, fish Veracruz, fish and chips with blue cheese slaw, and shrimp Louie's. The cocktail menu is also a hit. The warm and welcoming atmosphere is enhanced by the attentive and gracious staff. Located near Carson Hot Springs and Shoetree Brewery, it's the perfect spot to combine a meal with a relaxing outing. The restaurant is praised for its friendly service, with staff like Mama Coco making every visit enjoyable. The food is close to comfort food but with a little twist that makes it special, such as the flavorful Okonomyaki with flank steak served on a pan-fried veggie pancake, and the fish and chips made gluten-free with Bob’s red mill, cooked to perfection and crispy. The atmosphere is great, especially with the nearby breweries and hot springs making it a trifecta of local spots. Whether for a casual lunch or a memorable dinner, Sassafras provides a delightful dining experience for both locals and visitors alike.
