We love purple penguin and go there ALL the time! Kids love the shave ice and I always get the root beer float. Well went there recently and felt like I got skimped on the vanilla ice cream. I think I only took maybe two bites of the ice cream and all that was left was a cup of root beer. That was disappointing. Especially with prices going up everywhere. Did not notice it until I got home because there was a lid on it. Also got a straw, but no spoon. This was at the walk up window. First experience like this, but still love the place and will def go back for the kiddos :D much love

I love this place. I was craving shaved ice especially in this heat. It’s located in old downtown Henderson. It was very refreshing and worth the drive. My son and I stayed inside and cooled off with our shaved ice.

Made to Snowcone perfection on one of the hottest days so far Summer 2023. Even when my Wife complained it was a little too "soupy" PP stepped up and made it right. Outstanding courteous Staff made it a HAPPY DAY for Us. Thank You Purple?Penguin?! See you again real soon.

So I know I shouldn't compare, but there was a place called Polar Snow where the shaved ice was so light and fluffy that it just melted on your tongue, and everything tasted perfect. Nothing was over saturated and it was just sublime. They closed down, which is very sad. This place is the next closest thing that I've found, however, it's not nearly as good. The shaved ice has little crunchy bits of ice and isn't as smooth as I'd like, they oversaturate the drinks with syrup, and they didn't quite get my order right. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, though. I'm giving it 4 stars because it was ALMOST there, but not quite.

This place is usually my first idea when it's hot out and I want a treat. Recently I went there with my daughter who also loved what we got. We got the shaved ice and soft serve combo and it was delicious! There are so many flavors to choose from, soft serve, dole whip, and even traditional ice cream. Every time I have gone, the staff who took care of me were super friendly and helpful. This is such a cute tiny place on Water St to go to and enjoy your cold treat outside. Note, there is VERY limited seating inside due to the small nature of the building space so if you have a large group I would plan to eat outside or take a walk down Water St while you enjoy your shaved ice. ?

While I love their snow cones and the ice cream mixture, their service is not good. I was here with my family, we ordered and we waited. And waited. And waited. Every single other person or group who came and ordered after us had gotten their frosty treats and we were still waiting. After basically every person who had come in after us was given their purchased items and we were still standing there I asked what was going on with our stuff. The girl asked what we ordered, we repeated it, and they checked the register to make sure we actually purchased them before they made them. Like....? Obviously I'm not gonna fault them for probably doing what they've been instructed to do, but why would I lie about ordering something and not getting it? Then they gave us spoons for our very large drinks... That were clearly meant for the smallest size of their treats. Idk the staff was just lacking and I was very confused why we didn't get our stuff in the purchased order.

Coming back next month definitely stopping I missed it for 3years ! In process relocating back out there there use to be a trailer at gas stations back then we would go for our walk and of course stop best snow cones I ever had see you next month???❤

Sooo many flavor options fir the snow cones and add-ons! They have snow cones, ice cream and floats! The ice cream servings were very generous and she asked if we wanted the now cones in a bigger cup so it wouldn't overflow and be less messy. Genius! It was a fun trip and the service is fast. We will definitely be returning to try other flavors.

They used to have little stores placed in gas stations before during summer time, and I've always made a point to stop and get my shave ice.Now they have their brick and mortar store, and it's located at Henderson at the Water Street district. It's a little ways of a drive for me, but it's worth it!!!I want to give a shout out to the friendly staff in this place for being warm and welcoming.
