“As others have pointed out, this place can be intimidating if it's your first visit. However, the tacos are absolutely fantastic. My only critique is the amount of plastic used. I was given a plastic to-go container for a dine-in order of french fries, which felt a bit ridiculous. But I get it: It's Vegas.“

“In business, leaders often spend countless hours strategizing on how to build loyalty, create culture, and retain customers. But sometimes, the best examples aren’t found in boardrooms, they’re found in local businesses that quietly get it right every single day.
For years, Wahoo’s in the northwest has been one of those examples for me. On the surface, it’s a bar and restaurant. But beneath that, it’s a masterclass in culture and consistency.
The wait staff don’t just bring food, they bring it with genuine smiles, even on the busiest nights. The bartenders aren’t just pouring drinks, they set a tone of authenticity, hard work, and care that no manual could ever teach.
What makes it work? They’ve built a culture where people matter more than transactions. They don’t need to know my name, but when I walk in and hear “It’s Happppppppy!” that’s connection. That’s culture. That’s leadership at its purest.
The lesson for all of us in business: culture isn’t created by slogans or policies. It’s created by people who show up every day with heart, consistency, and pride in their work. When you empower a team like that, loyalty takes care of itself.
And a special shout out to three people who make Wahoo’s feel like home every single time:

“I love these carne asada tacos SO much! The price is something I’m willing to pay multiple times a week (which I do) as opposed to going somewhere else. I don’t usually like salsa or spicy food but their salsa roja is phenomenal. Customer service? After being there so often I think they’re just tired. My order always comes out right and if an issue occurs they’ve handled it well.“

“I’ve had Tacos el Gordo from right next door. These tacos really rival them. We weren’t planning on coming here, but after we saw how long the line at Gordo’s was, we decided to come here. We are glad we did! The food was delicious! Everyone in our party was really happy with their tacos. We all agreed that these were so delicious. We would definitely be back.“

“Amazing experience. The workers were extremely nice and caring. The food was BOMB like the dynamite shrimp... see my flow? Yeah, it was good ... The fish n chips is overrated for me, but my Dad says it's better than Gorden Ramsy Fish and chips lolz , you gotta try it to judge it. The catfish is amazing. The atmosphere is good. But they show piping at the stop. Vincente and Maggie ask for them they are extremely nice.“
“Thank you for a great meal! We're from out of town, and I'm sure there are better taco places out there - but this was better than any burrito I have had from my hometown. The cilantro crema tasted just like the one my parents used to make.“

“From Buffalo, NY and in Vegas traveling and craving some Yankee food. This place hot the spot. Small dive place with great vibes and awesome food. We got a half sheet pizza, some naked wings with several sauces, a beef on weck (only because they only had enough beef for one sandwich…), so traded the other three out for sub sandwiches. Taking the subs to CA for my sister.“

“Very cool atmosphere and some delicious vegan options for me. My friends, who are not vegan, greatly enjoyed their food and raved about the churros. Also, excellent mixed drinks. Just be aware that at EXACTLY 9pm the music volume is going to go from loud (have to low key yell to have a conversation) to nightclub-level BLASTING (maybe don’t plan on any communication unless you are mouth-to-ear).“

“The food at Oaxaca is delicious! I got adobo de puerco and loved it. The cook is from Oaxaca, Mexico and makes just about everything from scratch. This is definitely a hole in the wall place - nothing fancy about it. It looks kind of like a lonchería I ate at in Mexico. Don't let that stop you from trying some of the.best Mexican food I've had outside of Mexico.“

“We were looking for a late night nite and found Wahoo's. It looked kinda sketchy and the doors were locked. I rang the bell and the bartender buzzed us in. Only the bar area is open late night, but it serves the full menu. The fish tacos were very good. We also had loaded nachos which were delicious too. The bartender serves us and was cool and friendly. Great little spot!“

“Great burrito for breakfast. Chorizo, potatoes, beens, egg. Lots of options for you breakfast burrito. Generous serving and a great price. If you order for pick up through Google, there's currently a $3 discount. I'm not sure if there's a minimum order amount to qualify. But this isn't about the discount. It's Friday morning, and the restaurant is quiet, yet busy. Lots of customers came in and picked up their orders to go. The staff here were super friendly and even offered their ideas for good choices on the menu.
Located just north of the stratosphere, 9n Main Street in a quiet strip mall. Perfect location and ease of access. Definitely a must try while in Vegas.
