“Such a fun place. Nice but relaxed. The seafood special was to die for and the staff was so attentive and kind while we were waiting for a table. I would go every time I am in Vegas.“

“I moved back home after living in Las Vegas for 24 years and 3 1/2 years later I still think about the pizza here. The atmosphere is immaculate. Nerdy cool and not pretentious. The food is beyond tasty, that pizza though; lovely. The bartenders were always amazing, the music was perfect and the crowd was welcoming. By far one of the spots I recommend to anyone I know visiting. I'll be back visiting in a couple of weeks and I must bring my now 22 year old son for a celebratory flaming drink and more pizza. Love this place!“

“Alright listen. Me and the wife roll up to Mickey Fins Fishhouse on Fremont like two people who still believe “lunch” is a real concept in Vegas. We order boneless buffalo wings, cheesy rice balls, sliders, a mojito, and a mai tai — which is already the nutritional equivalent of filing for divorce and celebrating at the same time.
We sit outside specifically so we can people-watch like it’s a National Geographic special narrated by a guy who’s three drinks deep and emotionally compromised. I’m out here pointing at privately shaped headbands, men and women who have clearly been drinking since the sun was still negotiating its shift, and a dancing blue gorilla man in an inflatable costume with the kind of energy that should require a permit and a therapist.
And the kids. OH MY GOD the kids. Why — WHY — are there 6-to-8-year-olds being waltzed around Fremont Street like it’s a petting zoo for poor decisions? This is not a conducive environment. This is a human smoothie of shady people, people who are clearly not in their right mind, and people who accepted fate and said “I guess I make money somehow now.” I wanted to slap the parents’ hands and run the children off like seagulls at a beach buffet. “Go home. Touch grass that isn’t covered in glitter and regret.”
Meanwhile the wait staff has the thousand-yard stare of people who have watched the street too long. You ask for a refill and they look at you like, “Yeah… this is just another Tuesday. The gorilla’s back. The headbands are breeding. Nothing to see here.” And they’re right. Because sitting at Mickey Fins is one of the few places where the television and the social media feed are happening in real time in front of your face — no refresh button required. You just… live the algorithm.
Food was good. Drinks were better. Atmosphere was “less creepy than most daytime Vegas options,” which is a glowing review in this city. We even got a bonus family from somewhere Eastern European exotic — Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, one of those places where people still make eye contact and own cardigans. Older kids taking pictures, poking American food like it might file a lawsuit. Beautiful. Documentary gold.
So if you want wings, rice balls, tropical drinks, and a front-row seat to humanity’s unfiltered B-roll… Mickey Fins on Fremont. Bring snacks for your soul. Leave the kids at home. And if you see the blue gorilla — just nod. He’s clocked in longer than any of us.“
