Server Jose is great. He is kind and attentive. The food is decent, but not exceptional. The tostadas just seemed tossed together, the ingredients were not diced in a harmonious manner. For example the shrimps were whole, literally placed over slices of cucumber and tomato. Never had it that way before - it was difficult to eat and enjoy as a tostada. The shrimp was also not deveined, which was disappointing. There are large tv screens to watch sports, which was nice. Over all, it was a decent experience.

We’ve visited this restaurant multiple times, and while the food is good, the service consistently falls short. Each visit, I hope for a better experience, but end up disappointed. Even basic items like utensils, napkins, or refills are difficult to get.

Great food and an awesome atmosphere. The portions were generous, and the seafood was fresh and high quality. They also have plenty of non‑seafood options, which is a nice bonus. Perfect spot to bring the whole family. Thank you, we will be returning soon!

Very delicious and it makes you feel like you are eating healthy. lol… Surprisingly, the fish in the the fish tacos doesn’t have an after taste and I didn’t even have to squeeze lime on it. Highy Recommmended.

Originally my husband and I had planned on going to a pho place the next block over since the weather was cold, windy, and rainy, but it was closed for whatever reason, possibly maintenance. We were stumped---not knowing what to do, so we Googled restaurants near us and found Mariscos El Ancla! What was intriguing to me is that it was specifically a seafood Mexican restaurant & I'd been thinking about seafood for a while and how I hadn't had any lately.
The lady who seated us was extremely nice and super helpful! She knew it was our first time so she described a lot of the foods, sauces, drinks, etc... She answered all of our questions and was super friendly! Everything on the menu looked good, so it was hard to decide, but when I saw a picture of shrimp with a lot of red onions I immediately became curious and found out it was the garlic shrimp. My husband ordered the spicy diablo shrimp. Everything tasted great! The food seemed very fresh, and I loved the decor and all the small details. It was also very clean. We found out they have karaoke night on Fridays, and I think I remember her saying they had happy hour through the week. I definitely want to go back! 😋❤️🍤

From the outset, the environment felt uninviting, but we remained open-minded and decided to give it a try. My wife and I ordered the shrimp ceviche, and unfortunately the shrimp was completely raw and did not appear or taste as though it had been properly cured in the lime juice. We’ve visited many Mexican seafood restaurants over the years, and this is the first time it has ever been served to us this way.

When we brought the issue to our waitress’s attention, she stated that this is how it is served and did not offer a solution or alternative, which added to our frustration. Hoping for a better experience, we then ordered carne asada tacos, but unfortunately they also missed the mark. Both the tortillas and the carne asada were overcooked and lacked flavor.

Overall, this experience fell well below our expectations, and regrettably, we will not be returning.
