Nonprofit culinary academy through MGM. This teaching kitchen has great food at a bargain. Menu changes seasonally but there are standard favorites. Cash and cards accepted. Hours are M-F 11am ‐ 2pm. My favorite is the chicken

Located inside the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas (CALV), the Westside Bistro is a full-service restaurant run by students in training. I've been here several times for lunch and always had great experiences. First of all, the prices for lunch are inexpensive for what you get. The lunch menu has salads (chopped, Caesar) sandwiches (BLT, roasted tomato grilled cheese, buttermilk fried chicken, turkey melt), entrees (blackened salmon, fried catfish and fries, roasted chicken), desserts (cherry cobbler cheesecake, seasonal fruit crisp), and espresso drinks. There is plenty of seating, including counter seats. On my most recent visit, I had a terrific steak and frites entree (grilled steak, parmesan fries, truffle aioli) for $14.00. The students are professional and give excellent service; it's evident that CALV is doing a great job there.

We wanted to support the Culinary Academy but it didn't live up to the stellar reviews. I ordered blackened salmon which came with spinach and roast potatoes which were sitting atop what looked like half an inch of dirty dishwater; when I asked about it I was told it was "broth". It was flavorless and rather disgusting to look at and just made the food soggy. When it came time to pay we were never presented with a bill, just a student with a credit card machine to insert a card, info unseen. Won't be back.

My first time in and it was very nice! Heidi greeted me as soon as I walked in! Kristen came over and seated me. Fabian was my server and he was extremely nice ! Everyone I came in contact with was very nice! The restaurant was very clean and organized! Everyone worked together as one! The food was delicious! It was hot, fresh and delicious! ? I can't believe it's a culinary school! I had the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich with fries and peach tea! You can't beat the price for the quality!???? Everything was delicious! The service and food! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️keep up the awesome work! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
What a fun experience! We were looking for a quick, yet interesting, lunch option on the way to the Vegas airport...and The Westside Bistro hit the mark! We had the chicken sandwich, grilled cheese, Turkey melt, and a salad. All of us thought our food was tasty and fresh. Each entree had some sort of unique quality that made it above average. They even had gluten free bread for one person in our party. Our check for 5 people was around $50. They do a buffet lunch every Friday, which would have been neat to experience as well. I'd definitely go back if I was in the area!
