Briscola has treated me well over the years of coming to the GSR, and I'm sad to see that it's on its last few months of existence. It has provided me and my friends a place to find delicious pasta dishes at a reasonable price. As someone who comes to the GSR yearly, I've always made it a point to dine at Briscola at some point during my stay, often twice. I have always found the service to be good, even when my group was large (I've brought 20 people here before and they've worked with the large group as best they can). I'll definitely miss it! Check it out before it goes away!

Despite all the olive garden comparisons, we still decided to give this place a chance tonight. BIG F'N MISTAKE! Maybe ordering a steak at a pasta spot wasn't the best idea (initially wanted to go next door to Charlie Farmer but the fam wanted pasta) but I figured how bad could it be. So I ordered the boneless ribeye. I asked for med but it came out med well. Not only that but it was super dry and super lean. The only thing that saved the steak was the mushroom sauce..yeah I know, who puts sauce on a legit steak?? My daughter ordered the Alfredo and it was pretty decent. But cmon, it's pasta and sauce. Even a 9yr old can make that and not F it up. The ambience is definitely a step above Olive Garden. Nice chairs. Fancy lighting fixtures. BUT cheap plasticy feeling wine glasses and fake candles at the table?? LOL As far as the service goes, our waitress was meh...not horrible but didn't go out of her way to make sure we were ok. Lacked enthusiasm and attentiveness. Do yourself a favor and go next door to Charlie Farmer or do the all you can eat buffet.

Excellent wait staff! From the hostess to the bus boy and everyone in between, the service was awesome! In general, the food was good. Garlic bread was brought to the table prior to ordering. We ordered a cup of minestrone soup and calamari to start with pesto and creamy marinara sauce which was outstanding. Then we ordered the Chittara mushroom pasta, prawn Scampi, and Prawn Risotto with a side of scallops. We sent back the Chittara as the pasta was too thick and chewy, the risotto was ok, the prawns were good, but the scallops were amazing (cooked perfectly!). The restaurant was very loud. Not a place for a quiet dinner. Overall the wait staff was on their game and the food was a good. I overheard the waiter at another table explain that this was their last night being open as a CPK was coming in to open instead. Not sure if that's actually happening, but I could see why as the Casino can collect rent while a cookie cutter chain can run itself. I hope they can retain the staff as they would be beneficial to any restaurant.

Went for my gfs bday. Split the prawn risotto which was delicious, but I could have eaten by myself easily. Everything was good, but nothing was great.

One of the most amazing Italian dinner experiences I have ever had. Will be going there every time I visit Reno. Food and service were both exceptional.

We took the bread pic. We were starving so ate 3 pcs when i decided to take a pjc because they were so pathetic. Burned, dry, and really only crusts like the guts had been removed for some other purpose. Tables are crammed in with few booths. Meh experience since food was more expensive and worse than Olive G as someone else mentioned. We still joke abt the place at the GSR with the worst bread we have ever eaten lol.

We went on 12/29. We made a reservation as we expected the casino to be busy due to the new year weekend. Frankly, it felt the place was severely understaffed. We sat down and it took 10 minutes to get drinks (water and a soda). It took another 10-15 minutes to get bread (waitress said there was a large party that took it all but the largest part we saw was maybe 6-8 people which equates to 2-3 baskets at most). When she finally did take our order it took almost 45 minutes to get it. I even went as far and joked with the waitress that their kitchen staff was off their game tonight but was told again about this invisible large group. We were told it would be a few more minutes by our waitress and then 10 minutes later what appeared to be a manager (first time we saw her on the floor all night) comes out and said it would only be a few more minutes. I told her that's what we were told 10 minutes ago and magically our food appeared a minute later. By this point the restaurant was about half empty so as to why it was taking so long, I have no idea. At no time were there any apologies offered by any of the staff. I did not expect any compensation for anything that happened that night but I did expect a simple "sorry it's taking so long" or some sort of explanation and not passing blame onto a mystery "large party" that wasn't there.

I really should have listened to my fellow yelpers on this one. I thought people were being a little harsh when comparing to Olive Garden but sadly, they were not. The ONLY reason I'm giving the 3rd star is because the service was really good. I LOVE taking pictures of the food to post but sadly nothing was picture worthy. We started with a round of drinks and appetizers. The calamari came out luke warm and the meatballs got sent back because they were almost frozen inside. (The staff did make right by this by sending out another batch that was MucH better) I ordered the pasta bolognese which should come out al Dente, but came out like warm and crunchy. I ate 3 bites and left the rest to be wrapped up to go home, hoping to reheat it. (It didn't work.... ended up throwing it away) my husband ordered the Margherita pizza and honestly I've seen a better looking one come from the frozen selection in your local grocery store. I feel bad writing this review and not having anything nice to say. So I'll leave it with this: the free toasted bread was delish and the service was pretty good. But that's about it.

The worst Italian food I have ever had. A group of us locals went to Briscola to eat before Fantasies in Chocolate. We had never been there before, but for being upscale and with the Charlie Palmer Group, I was expecting some good food. The calamari was over cooked and had a pound of salt on it- we couldn't eat it. My mushroom ravioli tasted like it was somehow burned and the sauce had no flavor at all. It was so awful. The bread was good. The wine was good. I ate part of my friends dish which was chicken parmesan, and that too tasted like something you would eat at Applebees. Our $13.00 drinks, although way over priced were good. $140.00 tab for three people, leaving hungry and disappointed. I wont be back-

Love, loved, loved! From start to finish, we were impressed with the service, the food, and the prices. The breadbasket arrived with warm, crusty garlic bread and a ramakin of nicely spiced marinara sauce. We ordered clams in wine broth as an appetizer and it was DE-licious! It was a large portion and the broth was amazing and we could not stop dipping our bread into it. My husband ordered the veal Marsala with a side of asparagus. Entrees are served í la carte, so adding sides can be pricey but not outrageous. The asparagus was firm but not undercooked and the veal was perfect. The Marsala sauce was reduced and thick, but not too sickly sweet the way some Marsala are. I had a Caesar salad and a side of grilled scallops. The Caesar dressing wasn't overpowering, but hit a nice note. The croutons were from the same good bread as the appetizer, and very nice. The lettuce was chopped, which I appreciated. I'm not really into cutting my own lettuce. The scallops were grilled to to perfection!! Huge scallops for $10... what a deal! Dessert was a trio of cannoli, which were very authentic. You're reading the work of a full blooded Italian here. All in all, this place was great and we had very attentive service. I cannot understand the bad reviews because we really enjoyed it. Oh, and s nice wine menu, too! Bravo!

The worst Italian Restaurant. The service was good tho. For starters the garlic bread was over the top with garlic it was not eatable. The Caesars Salad was so fishy it was not eatable. I ordered the gnocchi, it was drowning in sauce. The sauce was so pasty like it came right out of the can. We were very disappointed.

This is the worst pasta I've ever had in my entire life.....and I've been to olive garden. What's the deal guys? Do you salt the water? How long you cook it for? 30 mins?!?! The noodles are as thick as cake. Abomination. Disaster. Crime against humanity. I've had better out of a can. Overcooked, ZERO flavor, awful sauce. Turn. Around.

Mediocre at best. Had the lobster stuffed salmon special which sounded great. The entire meal was smaller than an appetizer for $30. Salmon was dry and stuffing completely tasteless. I had to drown it in marinara to make it pallet able. Gets 2 stars for good service but give this place a miss!

Although their posted hours state they close at 10pm on Saturday, they actually stop seating earlier than that. We arrived at 9:52pm and another couple was in front of us and they were seated. We were told they were closed, however. The host saw it was early and refused to seat us, nevertheless. We won't be returning to Briscola and my next message is to Grand Sierra management voicing our disappointment. We visit Grand Sierra about 12-15 times per year. If they like to go home early why not state that they close at 9:00 instead?

Stopped in for dinner before a show. We had a reservation and was seated right away. Our server arrived promptly and let us know right up front that he was new. I ordered a Syrah. He came back to tell me they were out and in stead offered me a Chardonnay. Ummm... I ordered a red why would you offer a white as a substitute? Clearly he did not know wine. I ordered a steak with broccolini as a side. I ordered my steak medium. It was a bit more like well done. The broccolini was extremely al dente. Overall I do not think the service and food we had were worth the price. It wan't bad but it definitely wasn't high end. I think it was just okay overall.
