Terrible service. We dropped by on a Sat morning for breakfast, mostly due to positive reviews. We made a reservation for 10:00am to avoid the normal morning wait. It didn't help. We showed up, waited for someone to help. Noticed several waitresses ignoring us. Waited and waited, asked a waitress for help, she said she would get someone. Just about the time we were ready to give up, the receptionist walks by, checks our reservation, it's now 10:15 or so, she tells us that because "we" were late, it will take them some time to clean a table for us. So ok. She finally seats us, and we are subsequently ignored. No coffee order, no hello, nothing. Wait another 15 mins and figured enough was enough, and walked out. It wasn't busy that morning, not sure how these guys get decent reviews. Never again.

Nice breakfast spot, great atmosphere and cool “iron curtains”. Food was okay, latte was really good.

Tuesday night, the restaurant was not busy but there was a private event on the side. The service was fast even with the same employees working both areas. My server, Raquel, was friendly and kept checking if I needed anything. I had the 12oz steak with broccolini and mash potatoes. Everything was delish. They have some appetizers 50% off during happy hour.

Breakfast was absolutely awful. Avocado toast is a toasted single piece of cheap wheat bread, with about a pound of prepackaged guacamole mix heaped on, and some corn sprinkled over the top. Very unappetizing and not worth $17.

I've been here three times now, and am never unimpressed by the food. No matter what you get, it's Imaginative and filling. If I had to be an absolute nitpick, I'd say their weakest entree is the ramen, as I'm spoiled by dedicated ramen shops here and abroad. But seriously, it's all great.

Very nice place. I like that the kitchen is open (like they aren't hiding anything). Staff was attentive and pleasant. The breakfast menu was limited but the food we did order was very good. I had the burrito and it was massive.

I went for lunch with a friend and it was 1230 the restaurant was empty we got seated right away. The waitress was nice, but didn’t seem to know anything about the menu. I had to ask for a drink menu and they couldn’t make anything according to her because the staff did not knowing how to. So I just stayed with my water. Then I ordered the rigotoni pasta with marinara and beef. The pasta was undercooked so I tried to wave down our waitress however she left and no one else was assigned to us or checking on us so I stared at the 6 servers who were standing in the corner until one of them made eye contact. Then I’m waiting for 20 minutes on pasta which was done and was just sitting on the kitchen table under the light for half that time and again I kept staring at the servers who at that time it wasn’t busy still. Finally I get my order and at that point I had to ask for a box due to my meter almost expiring. I don’t even get asked how’s the food no apology for the food being undercooked or the delay in serving my food. So finally we get up and ask for the bill and no one even talks to me or apologizes or says thank you for coming. This place was horrible. Will never return not recommend anyone. I get it it was busy but it was empty until afterwards more people started arriving.

The Whitney hotel and this cafe are horrible. The hotel looks nice when you walk in and the rooms are nice, but the service and food is subpar. The Mac & cheese with brisket was horrible. The burger was decent. And what makes things worse is when you look at their guide it says call for room service but then they tell you we don’t provide room service. The employee on the phone even said oh we always have to correct everybody that we don’t do that. And then there’s not even coffee available early in the morning in the executive lounge.

Edit: had to come back and update my review after I had the avocado toast for breakfast. Had to mark the restaurant down from my original 5 stars. The avocado toast was horrible, like seriously I didn’t want to continue eating it. They put a whole avocado on bread and some horrible corn. #1 most important step for a good avocado toast is to completely mash the avocado and put some freaking salt in pepper in it. Was so bummed this ruined my opinion on the cafe. Otherwise, my other meals were great as you can read below.

I still can’t believe a hotel restaurant in the states is this good. Breakfast and dinner both have been amazing! I got the Chilaquiles and the wings. Chilaquiles were freaking amazing. I couldn’t believe it. Definitely get it with the added asada. I got the Whitney peak sauce and the Korean BBQ sauce for the wings and damn!! I usually prefer the hottest hot a restaurant has for my wings but they didn’t have hot. But these too sauces were so great. I left dinner so completely satisfied and happy. Definitely gonna go get wings one more time before I leave. Also the Bloody Mary at breakfast was pretty good for a hotel bloody. Not like the ones I make at home. But enjoyable. Lastly, both waitresses that I had were awesome friendly and the perfect amount of chatty. Not annoying and not inattentive.

Made reservations for a party of 12. Table was ready and food was good. Service was good as well. Parking SUCKED because on their website, it states free valet when dining at Cafe Whitney but once all od my party arrived, the valet still charged each car $20, despie us telling them we had reservations at Cafe Whitney. Upsetting when we spent $300+ and was celebrating a special occasion with family. Overall, experience was good but not great for us. What made it worse was valet mixed up tickets for cars when we were leaving…they brought out someone else’s car instead of ours. It was a terrible valet parking experience.

Gab, was incredibly friendly and attentive this evening. The steak was excellent and thanks for the great recommendation! We really appreciated the tips on food and places to check out around Reno. Thanks, Gab!

Our server, Gab, was incredibly attentive and friendly this evening. We truly enjoyed our dinner, and his great service will definitely be part of the special memories we take with us from Reno. The food was great! By far the one of the best pork belly ramen I’ve had. Thanks for the recommendation Gab.
